Ugly But Beneficial November 5, 2007
I have had numerous holders and this turns out to be the most convinient. I can move it to any location on the dash and will stay put. Also have moved it to my console when I wanted it without any problems. I do not have to remove my Garmin Nuvi 660 from the holder as I can move the whole unit and put it away when I exit the car. I like it alot. Great product and worth the minmal cost even though it looks ugly and a has a strange shape. Oh well, it does what it was made for exceptionaly well.
The perfect mount! November 5, 2007
Just came back from a 600 mile trip using this mount with my nuvi 350. The mount never moved on my slanted dash and is very adjustable. So nice to pick up the mount and all and slide under the front seat when you park. No one knows you even have a gps in the car. No marks on the windshield, no pads stuck to your dash, just the perfect mount. Wish I'd had this right fron day one. EXCELLENT!!!

A must have... so much better than a suction mount! November 4, 2007
I am an agressive driver... start fast, stop fast, in general drive fast... (not illegally or dangerously, I just like to get where I am going). Anyway, this thing holds tight to the dash through all of it. I also work downtown in a major city... not an area where you like valuable things being visible in your car. Well, thats another area where this thing rocks... two seconds and you have it off the dash and out of sight and unlike with a suction method, there is virtually no evidence of your GPS system! As much as I have grown to view a GPS system as a must own device, I think the friction mount for one is just as essential. My girlfriend has a different Garmin unit without a friction mount... it NEVER stays stuck to the windshield so most of the time she just has it sitting on her dash unmounted... rocking and rolling all over. If she doesnt get her own friction mount, its one of the things I am going to get her for xmas!

I read the reviews, bought the friction mount over the suction cup and am extremely pleased with the product. It is better than I ever thought. It stays in place on the dashboard but if I need to make a slight adjustment to the angle or want to completely change the location, just pick it up! It has just enough weight and rubber backing to keep it where you put it. Perfect!

We have had a Garmin Nuvi for about a year with the windshield mount. It was a hassle taking the GPS off the mount, the windshield mount probably attracted people to the car who may have thought about breaking in to steal the GPS, and the mount kept falling off the windshield when it lost suction because of temperature, humidity, or vibration. We should have gotten this dashboard mount months ago! It is so much easier.
