| Customer Reviews:
Easy to Use, Decent Scans August 23, 2008 I bought this scanner because we had slides my father had taken in the 1950's in France & Germany when he was in the service, and I wanted to get those pictures into our digital library. The scanner is easy to use, does a decent job, we ended up with better than I had thought we would for picture quality, and everyone is loving being able to look at the slides that heretofore were relegated to a box in the attic. I haven't used it for anything but slides, as I have other scanners, but I have done about 500 slides. I haven't experimented too much with the various settings, but I didn't have any problems making the thing work.
Great scan quality and Fair price, just a bit big for my desk! August 17, 2008 This scanner gives really amazing quality scans. I scanned an image of a wedding invitation (with ultra-spidery curly-Q type that was about 1/4 or less tall) and was able to blow up each letter to fill half my computer screen before I could even start to see the pixels. It was easy to instal and use, though it came with a few photo programs that I ended up installing before I realized I did not need them. Works quietly and quickly, and is very compatible with my Intel MacBook and Photoshop CS3. The only small complaint I have is that it is a bit larger than your average scanner; About 5" longer and it is at least 4" tall, so I did have to re-arrange my desk set-up. Overall, though, it was totally worth it!
Great Scanner for slides August 13, 2008 I have scanned over 600 slides so far and I have not had a single problem. I ordered this despite mixed reviews. I have not yet figured out how to scan negative strips with it- but... It also does a few other type of old negative/picture options also. It is a time consuming project to begin with, so the speed of the machine seems fine to me. It is not to slow (and definately not extremely fast). If I could get an extra slide adapter to load while the original one is scanning, it would be perfect!
I have a new model Mac computer... and the software installed perfectly and works flawlessly. The editing software included on the software is pretty great with lots of neat capabilities.
Thanks!
Good August 9, 2008 works good but the features are not user friendly. A lot of Casing looks very cheap the adapter is not very compact, need a seperate power supply apart from the usb.
Fantastic August 8, 2008 This scanner is fantastic. The very first scan, using default settings, was flawless and detailed. It's quick. The film scanner feature works great. And you can't beat the price.
