Bose Wave System radio/CD August 24, 2008 WE are pretty satisfied with our Bose Wave System purchase from Amazon. However, the unit we bought was reported to be new, but was actually slightly used, and the package did not contain an operator's manual. That made us feel a little bit taken by the dealer. The unit itself works very well, and Bose deserves its great reputation for great sound from a small apckage. The CD drive has given us some fits as it rejects many disks that are in good condition but it will not load them. Don't know why, but some have worked after using a disk cleaning system on them.

I cannot believe this thing has no buttons.
Hit the snooze with the remote control?
I don't think so.
As an object, an electronic device with no buttons is like a parapalegic.
A remote is not a necessity, on any electronic device. It is a convenience. Being forced to use what is erstwhile a convenience feels like house arrest.
Don't Buy! August 1, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I enjoyed my old Bose Radio /CD Player for five years and decided to "upgrade" to the better sound quality of the Wave System. I purchased a Wave Music System and CD Changer. Another reviewer said the CD player in these units is Dollar-store quality. That's being generous. The base Wave unit regularly "captures" CD's, often for several days, before deciding to eject the disc. Okay, I thought, just use the Changer. Wrong. The Changer more often than not balks, skips, and otherwise rebels if you try to get it to read a disc. Sometimes if you let it "rest" for several hours it will get over the rebellion. Usually you have to unplug and "reboot" the Changer, which corrects the problem every once in a while. Both units were returned to Bose and replaced (they were good about this) but are STILL not working properly. The second Changer is actually worse than the one that was returned. I won't bother returning these units again, but won't make the mistake of purchasing Bose equipment in the future. The CD sound quality IS better than my "old" Bose Radio/CD player (when it's working), but the "old" one is DEPENDABLE. I agree with other reviewers the radio sound quality just ain't worth the price. I don't mind having to use the remote as much as other buyers, but purchased extras in case I lost one. They're cheap. If I could purchase the Wave Music System and CD Changer again -- I wouldn't. The money I spent on these units is WAY too much for the quality. Bose used to deliver quality to their customers. Not any more.
Bose the best July 29, 2008 Great sound, great looks, pricey but worth every penny! Replaces the large component system that took up a lot of space and block the window view in our dining room. It's like going from the large back breaking 500 lb big screen TV to the large plasma and HD flat screen TVs. I have purchase three Bose music systems in the last year - two radio/CD players - one for my 74 year old Mom and one for my dinning room and one entertainment system for my husband's Jazz room to go with his 52 plasma TV. My husband now wants to purchase another radio/CD player to replace the stereo component set and enhance our 42 plasma TV in our bedroom.

I've purchased 5 bose waves over the pass 10 years - all are still going strong. It's one of my favorite gifts to give since the recipient is always pleased. I did get one with a bad battery in the remote but this was easily replaced. Don't spend more than you need to for great sound - get the $500.00 bose radio/CD.
