Good product July 25, 2008 The speeds for this flash drive are average. The rubber casing is OK, but the top can be easily lost.
Very Nice! Faster than I thought it would be. July 16, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This USB thumb drive has a really nice feel to it. It works in Windows Vista perfectly, the drivers load automatically.
I measured the following performance: Write single 717MB video file - 120 seconds - 5.975MB/s Read single 717MB video file - 30 seconds - 23.9MB/s Write 455 files (727MB total) JPG files - 150 seconds - 4.85MB/s Read 455 files (727MB total) JPG files - 37 seconds - 19.65MB/s
I think this is very nice for the money.
EXCEEDING PLEASED with all aspects associated with my new Corsair July 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This USB flash drive has EXCEEDED my expectations because:
- after a $20 rebate, it cost less than $18; - to date, customer service has been excellent; and - copying a 3 GB .dvr-ms file, using Windows Explorer to CUT and PASTE, write at 8.1 MB/s, read at 25.5 MB/s. Both over 180% higher than Corsair's spec'd average sequential write and read speeds.
I purchased this drive to copy files larger than 4 GB, and had no problems copying multiple smaller files, less than 4 GB, to its maximum FAT32 capacity. But when I tried to copy a 6.5 GB file, I got the error: "The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue."
For FAT32 drives, I learned that the maximum transferrable file size is limited to 4 GB. To copy larger files, they must be formatted to NTFS (which are not hot-swappable). However, using Device Manager, you can safely remove it from the USB port - a hassle for some, but a SOLUTION for me!!
Thank you for a FANTASTIC Father's Day gift, Curly!!
Corsair - Good Drive but Hate the Cap July 9, 2008 Good Drive. My nit to pick is I hate flash drives with separate caps - way too easy to lose. If there was a way to tether or, better yet, eliminate the cap, I would be in favor of it.
Breaks over extended use July 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My Corsair drive actually physically broke after using it for about a year. I used it often but fairly carefully, so - be warned! Now mine is unusable and I'm just hoping that everything on there is backed up . . .
