Restock Special June 27, 2008 This item was clearly a restocked item. The packaging was not factory packaging and the cables had been hastily rewound and not tied. Batteries were loose inside a zip-lock bag. Never got to use the item. I was never able to get the included software to recognize the unit. That is probably why it was sent back the first time.
Great Value June 27, 2008 I've had the Golflogix for about a month now. I play mostly public courses that do not have on cart GPS systems. As such the Golflogix GPS has been invaluable for both myself and my playing partner. I find it accurate, easy to use and easy to load. My only complaint is that it eats batteries. Expect to get maybe 3 or 4 rounds of golf from a fresh set of Duracells. I carry an extra pair in my golf bag. Buy it you'll love it.
Love it June 26, 2008 I ordered it, it came real quick. I love the price. It works great. Its very accurate. Now how do I improve my swing?
Handy, dandy but some quirks... June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Using this product once I got it set up has been a joy. However I had to go through a lot of frustration in getting there. The first product I received was faulty. It kept turning off after a few seconds. HOWEVER, one call to GolfLogix's customer service was all it took and another brand new unit was shipped out to me without delay, which I received in only 2 days, and that one seems to work fine after testing it out on the course. All my local courses that I play are mapped on it, and it seems so far to give accurate distance readings. So I was impressed by how the company stood by their product and didn't hesitate to find a solution to my initial problem.
That said, there are two things I wish for:
1) a more readable display... it does NOT look that clear in actual use that you see in the picture. It can be difficult to get proper contrast enough to easily read the smaller print readings. In sunlight it's worse. In these days of sophisticated cell phone displays, iphones, etc., the display on this unit is rather archaic.
2) in the screens which show distance to hazards, it doesn't include the number hole you are playing and the overall yardage, which would be nice just to confirm where you are in your round. That would be nice as many times I don't have a clue as to what hole I"m on and I am wondering... is this right?
Both these things aside, I think this is a good product that could be made better by addressing these issues in future updates. It certainly feels durable and tough and is quick and easy to set up and begin using.
not worth the money June 24, 2008 This was made very poorly. The screw in the back does not hold the unit securely, causing the unit to fall off constantly. Not worth the money.
