5 out of 5 stars FAST AND ACCURATE   August 29, 2008
QUITE GLAD!!! Was shipped and delivered as promised... I havent' had the time to use it as much as I desire, but is very nice-looking, wider screen than the StreetPilot I had, faster and more accurate.
I'm very happy with this Nuvi, should I say, so far....

4 out of 5 stars A few small pros and cons.   August 29, 2008
The Nuvi 660 is fast, easy to use right out of the box, and the large screen is easy to navigate and enter addresses onto. I didn't realize how much easier until I used the smaller Nuvi 240 in another vehicle. The wider spacing of letter 'keys' is a nice improvement for big fingers.

The traffic indicators are helpful, but alternate routes don't make much sense if you already are on the route optimized for shortest time. These work right out of the box.

Also, when there is a traffic alert, you can't touch the lower right turn area to step through the upcoming turns. It defaults to the traffic map (only north oriented). It would be helpful to see the planned turns instead of going to this map.

The unit is very easy to unhook from the mounting caddy.

Occasionally it tries to couple with a phone in another vehicle and asks for permission to do so. A password is needed for this.

Lots of features I'll never use are included.

5 out of 5 stars Best gadget I ever bought!   August 29, 2008
Once I responded to an Ann Landers column regarding getting lost and how frustrating that was. She wrote me back! and said that it was okay, I was just "directionally challenged", which was really an understatement if you know me. I can get lost in my own neighborhood. Don't even ask. With this baby, I've been set free! It records books, plays music, even gets me going in the right direction when I turn the wrong way. It's fabulous. Even my husband loves it! That's another story :)

5 out of 5 stars No more getting lost!   August 29, 2008
I bought the Nuvi 660 becuase I knew I was going to be doing a lot of long-distance driving this summer (2008), and it was a recommended buy from Comsumer Reports. All I can say is that it is the best $299 I have spent in a long time. No more getting lost! No more fights in the car over who didn't read the map properly, or the Mapquest instructions correctly! No more relying on a husband who regularly falls asleep with the map directions in his lap! My husband--an engineer not easily impressed--readily agreed it was a great investment.

2 out of 5 stars Bluetooth conflict with Voice Nav and Customer Svc couldn't fix   August 29, 2008
I am sure I am not the only one who has encountered this problem, but the here it is for your info.
Whenever I used the bluetooth feature to answer a phone call, the voice nav would be disabled and the only way to get it back working was to turn off and on the unit.

This is so annoying because being in California and with the new hands-free laws, I was constantly using the BT. And then would constantly miss exits because I forgot that the voice nav was disabled!!!!

Called Nuvi customer service and they were no help. Instructed me to send it back! I am so disappointed. Waited and researched a LONG time before buying the 660 only to have this happen.

I asked the rep to PLEASE try to duplicate the problem and see if this is isolated to my unit or a bug in the 660 and she stated they can't replicate problems! WHAT!?!?!?!?

Anyhow, heads up to those who want to use the BT along with voice nav. I assure you, it will cause massive inconveniences.
