Ordered and received two from a seller under Amazon. They are identical to the original one on my U212 Deluxe. Perhaps DX = Deluxe. Originally got my Slik tripod used from a friend back in the 80's.

Slick makes a great tripod. This quick release mechanism is horrible, horrible, horrible.
Put a Manfrotto head on the Slick tripod and you have a good combination.
Cheap Insurance February 13, 2008
I bought two of these to go with the one included with my tripod so I now have one for each camera plus a spare. Cheap insurance for a necessary item.

Item, as represented, arrived promptly as hoped for. Xellent in all respects. (Feight cost was disproportionally high in relation to overall value but that's my fault -- couldn't find the same item locally, as easily.)

I ordered two of these, at first i wasn't so sure of it, because i only got the U-212 Not the DX, but then again didn't have any chose. Long story short, it's the perfect one. It's call Quick Release Post No.6121
I know how troublesome to debate whether or not to take a chance and buy it, so, here's a little info that i found on the back of the package i've got, hope it will help..
Model number: 6121 (yes it also got a upc sticker with Cat.No 618-752 on it) Suitable: 88M, U212DX, 35DN, U112DX, 444-SPORT II, 444-SUPER SPORT.
Please do keep in mind, that i don't own anyother tripods but the U-212, so i can not guaranty them... good luck..
