Works as advertised February 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Protects the iPod and maintains full functionality. Depth rated to 3 feet. I've had mine in the pool lots of times withour incident. This case is designed for surface swimming only. It works.

Fell in a creek (hard) while hiking with my ipod in an otterbox, of course fell on the ipod side, no damage at all. Buy it if you are at all in wet or questionable conditions..
Good for one thing December 6, 2007 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product does keep moisture out, but it renders the ipod so huge and clunky that I can not wear it on my arm or carry it easily.
A Great Product...a little Bulky, but it does the trick November 1, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My first iPod was ruined when it went into a lake with me while walleye fishing...I wasn't going to let that happen again. I received the Otterbox, stuck two cottonballs in it (without the iPod, of course) and then submerged it in the sink for about 14 hours. Not a drop of water got in and the cotton balls were bone-dry. It protects the iPod and that is my main concern...but it is a little on the large side.
UPDATED REVIEW. October 3, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
UPDATED REVIEW: I do not know what has happened to the Otterbox for the iPod Video 30/60/80 GB with the click wheel, but a while back I bought a new one, just in case I wanted to update mine, or in case I lost it. I eventually got some paint and other stuff on it, so I started using the new one (the 908-01.3). After three days, the top of the case fell off. I e-mailed them about it, and they sent me a new one. I told them I wanted to buy a second one, just to have it, and I was told that they were no longer producing them. When the new one arrived, I really watched how I used it, but tonight, after a week, its hinges were cracked! Otterbox is not selling this model, or any similar model for the iPod video anymore. They are only selling one that is very large and contains two speakers. I am trying to find-out what gives with this case. For the meantime, I would not buy this case from any supplier. If there was a way to lower my rating of this product, I would, but this is as much I can do. What follows is my original review. Hopefully, Otterbox will come-up with new case for the 60/80 GB Video iPod.
For at least two years, possibly three, I have used the Otterbox for my iPods with excellent results. I first realized that I needed such a product when I purchased my first photo iPod several years back and read all of the reviews here on Amazon about the iPods. It seemed like anything was affecting them: water, moisture, dust, etc. After searching on the Internet for a while, I came across the Otterbox being sold. The site wasn't real pretty, but the product sounded like it was just what I needed. So I ordered one.
I have not been disappointed. I wear it on my belt as I work in my yard (including putting out fertilizer in the rain), cutting grass, at football games, doing anything and everything. I had purchased several cases, from the Extremewear to Kensington's, all very good cases, but none gave me the sense of security for my iPod, of which the first one was $600.00 and rather pricy to replace if I had to....
Which brings me to speak about my daughter... Like most young adults, she knows more than I do, so when I told her about my Otterbox, she said, "No thanks, I can take care of my iPod without that." For the record, the first one she had got dropped, and it had to be replaced. I paid for that one. The second one quit mysteriously, and had to be replaced. She paid for that one. When the third one fell out of her back pocket and into a toilet bowl, she wanted me to buy her another and she'd pay me back, but she needed it now because finals were approaching and we all know, studying for finals without music is the kiss of death on ones grades. I told her I would only if she kept it in the Otterbox. She has, and over a year later, she still has the same iPod, and it still works.
I have had one issue with my Otterbox. I have broken half of the belt clip, but a call to the folks at Otterbox at 888.695.8820 gets another sent out UPS that day.
In closing, whether you paid $100 or $600 for your iPod (or PDA or Blackberry), you need to protect it. With Otterbox, you not only protect it, but you get to use your electronic device to its full potential. For me that potential was met when I was floating on my back in the waters off of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, with my iPod playing, while safely protected by my Otterbox, and the music coming out of the H2Audio Headset.
