Garmin Portable Friction Mount January 7, 2008
This item works great in my Grand Cherokee and in my wifes Volvo 850. It stays in place and does not block frontal view in either vehicle. Easy to remove and hide from view.

After reading other reviews, I was not convinced it would work. After getting to put it through my driving test, it works, good. I did not check it on a race track, but if you are driving not to attract attention, it never moved. If you hit some bumps while driving turning/braking... , it will slide, but anything not stuck down will do that.
It is bigger than I expected it to be, and does not do anything for your dash aesthetically; but I could not find another way to portably mount my GPS. I would definitely recommend this.

I used the suction cup mount that came with my Garmin Nuvi 350 for a few weeks. I use it between 2 cars so I move it often. I also live near Chicago, so it gets cold in the winter. The suction cup mount seems hard to use in the winter. This beanbag type is awesome. I have not had it fall off my dash yet. I also like the fact that when I park somewhere, I place the whole bean bag thing on the floor of the car, out of sight. I highly recommend this to anyone that has or buys a Nuvi.

Gave as gift, product was better than he thought it would be. Holds on dashboard well, no sliding.
