 Great alternative for GPS windshield Mount July 23, 2008
This is a great alternative for a GPS windsheld mount...has a Garmin post connection built in and stays in place on your dashboard regardless of fast stops or turns.

This works much better then the mounting disc that came with the Garmin. You can place it any where on the dash and it stays there. I would highly recommend it.

Its nice to place my GPS on the dashboard for several reasons. I like the fact that there isn't any suction 'rings' on my front windshield and I don't need to take that suction ring off every time I leave my car for an extended period of time (fear of theft). Additionally, as we are driving, my wife can grab the device to research restaurants, closest walmarts, etc. without the need to reach to the front window and pull it off. Now she just picks up the mount and my C580 and places it on her lap. Finally, when placed wherever on my dash, it does not slide around...and I have given it plenty of opportunity to do so with fast turns and quick stops.

What more can you say, the friction pad does exactly what it was designed to do however Garmin should include one as a standard accessory with every Nuvi purchase.

I bought this mounting piece along with a Garmin Nuvi GPS. It couldn't be easier to operate. I used it for a 700 mile round trip to New Hampshire and the GPS unit didn't budge an inch. No matter what kind of driving I was doing the unit held steady. This is a perfect product and I would recommend it highly. I urge everyone that buys a Garmin Nuvi GPS to get this, it is truly terrific !
