Good camera, with image stabilization, lot of manual options..colour swap, colour accent, creative light effect, foliage view.. to name a few. And it gives very good macros. The optical + digital zoom comes to 16x , which is pretty cool, u'll get some really good shots if you keep the camera steady at that kind of zoom. Also the video play back comes with sound, unlike some previous models.
The only problem i found is that the base of the camera is a little rounded ( not entirely flat like my previous SD400) so makes it a little difficult to keep it steady if you want to place it on a surface and take pictures, and also for self timer. Over all, very good performance.

Hi every one, before writing review i first want to tell about myself...iam a person who experiments and takes all the reviews before purchasing any electronic product. I have brought many electronic products and most of them had either some problem or they dont even work....It is really hard for me to satisfy.......but cannon powershot SD850 camera is that one product, which not only catched my eyes for the first time but also was an excellent product that cannon can make forever.....i have not seeing any product like this...it is a wonderful camera...
my hobby is photo taking, and i have almost 10 cammeras..but cannon SD 850 is the only product i used most often....because of its compact size, the picture quality is awesome, and shutter time is amazing....its 8 megapixel makes picture very closer and cleaner......
At the last i would like to thank amazon.....for there wonderful support.....in my point of view amazon is the best place to buy any electronic product..i have purchased 2 cannon SD850 cammeras within 1 month...now you can judge how good the camera performs.....i would recommed this camera and i will give a total of 5 stars for complete satisfication....i have recommened both amazon and cannon SD 850 to my friends

Greatest camera I have had. My daughter had the SD800 and her pictures were so clear and sharp that when my other Canon was recalled I purchased this one and am not disappointed. Sharp pictures,Excellent face focusing, easy to operate. I wonder how Canon thinks they can improve on this type of camera when it is excellent in all ways.

I love this camara, I learned how to use all of the settings and every picture comes out perfect from up close of a flower, to my friends acting silly. There are so many options that you are able to get creative and do anything almost your mind can create
