1 out of 5 stars Downgrade from Wii Sports   September 17, 2008
If anyone would have reviewed this game, I wouldn't have bought it. This is why.

CONS:
-No character creation or personalization
-No training or leveling up
-Controls are less responsive than Wii Sports
-4 belt contentions, totalling 15 fights (and then you're done)

PROS:
-Characters are not Mii people
-Power punch

I love boxing games and so does my 9 year old son. We are both pros on Wii Sports (which takes some doing!) and we were looking for the next level of boxing. This isn't it. It is definitely a step backwards. Be forewarned!

I have not been able to knock out anyone yet or get a good punch in but still workig on it. Not sur if I like game or not.

Boo!!! I was hoping for more punching back and training, but even the boxing seems less responsive than the pre-package Wii version.

2 out of 5 stars better graphics, horrible response to controls   June 12, 2008

Pros:
--- graphics:
though the graphics are not that great compared to other games that came out in the past year or so, it's much more realistic & better for the eyes to watch to know how to move.
--- speed:
movements of the fighters are much slower then wqii boxing or victorious boxers which makes it more realistic & strategy more important. it is very easy to track & see when a fighter is about to & is punching you or blocking.

Cons:
--- no music: only a few grunt noises
--- only 4 boxer choices to start with:
one being very overweight & hairy, though give points for graphics, I didn't want to choose him nor fight him because it was too realistic. lol
--- unresponsive to normal punches & blocks:
I did the tutorial, it worked there, but in the ring? nope. I couldn't do a body block for the life of me & head block took several attempts each time. instead of fighting, I just started experimenting & counting how many times the game responded to my punching: 2 out of 4 times. sometimes only 1 out of 4 times even for very slow, good form punches.
--- lack of punching choices: there were no hooks & I forget if there were uppercuts, I think so, but I think I got it to respond 1x to do that though I made repeated attempts in my game response experiment. there is only mostly jabs & punches & holding down B or Z for super punches/jabs.
--- 3rd person view:
yes the graphics are much better, but you still feel too far away, they should have made the camera closer or see-thru like wii boxing for a more realistic feel.

wii boxing & victorious boxers: revolution are much better, with VB being more responsive/real fighting but harder to see with drawn graphics.

1 out of 5 stars One of the Worst Games Out   January 2, 2008

Where to begin!

First off the trailer for the game looks excellent, until you play the game... This game is definitely not wii sports boxing. The range of motion for your boxer (and others) is quick flicks of the wii-mote. Standing up and punching, blocking and leaning as in wii sports boxing is a no-go.

The most annoying aspect is the in-game sounds. Basically, your character and the in-game characters have three different noises. High pitch, low pitch and "Puhffft" grunts. Trust me, play this game for five minutes and the same sound over and over gets very stale very quick.

Overall the graphics are decent, but combined with the terrible audio, lackluster controls make for a boring game.
