2 out of 5 stars HUGE frustrations with this   June 14, 2008

The instruction booklet stinks way too little information and help.

The help screens in the game following a match are on the screen for a millisecond...how am I supposed to read it?

The control for chipping is impossible. Too light it goes an inch...too hard it goes over the green and out of bounds. Then when I try somewhere between the two extremes it erratically goes over or is short...way short. There is NO consistency in chip shots. I shorten my back swing...no change in the bad result. If I shorten the back swing and use less down force...no improvement. No combination seems to produce any result even somewhat consistent.

I get the feeling that the game program decides how well or how poorly you will do as you progress through the PGA career mode. If they want you to do well, all my chip shots are fine. But if I start doing too well and begin to move to the top of the golfers...BOOM, I get a 6 over par with chip shots and putts that are either too long or too short. Sometimes I haven't begun my swing and the game does the shot...badly of course.

The game concept is OK but the control one really has with the controller or any semblance of real life is AWFUL.

And how in the heck does one get rid of the annoying mannerisms before and after a shot. Hunting through the many menus might produce how but I haven't found it yet.

I think I'd rather play the real thing. This game is overprice and poorly designed.

4 out of 5 stars Lots of fun   June 2, 2008

While the Wii version of this game doesn't have a lot of the advanced graphics options that the 360 versions has, it's a great next step if you have gotten bored with the Wii Sports package course that only has 9 holes.

4 out of 5 stars Very Good Game!   June 1, 2008

This is a great game for avid golfers! Unbelievably realistic and pleasing to eyes thanx to the cool graphics.

On the negative side, the commentary sucks a little bit. Every time you play a shot, before ball lands, commentators tell exactly where it is going to land. This is very annoying feature because it destroys the enjoyment in anxious waiting for the landing of your ball. Of course you can disable the commentary but then you lose the fun of commentary as well. I hope EA will fix this thing in their next version.

4 out of 5 stars Good overall game.   May 20, 2008

This version seems to be made with the Wii in mind a lot more than the 2007 version. No false swings that happened in the last version. Also I like the putting much better in this version, although it is a bit tougher it is more realistic. I had many troubles with long putts in the last version, the swing would take off or never go, it is much easier to get those long ones close. There are some mismatched descriptions of some holes. One I remember is a par 4 that the announcer says is a par 3, and the exact same description on the Scottish course for 2 similar holes. All in all though a fun game.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievably real   April 11, 2008

Absolutely love it! Amazing how real it is. Graphics are beautiful. Need to judge wind speed and direction, uphill or downhill, fairway-rough-sand lie, green breaks, club selection, whether to lay up or go for the green. Right now I'm trying out for the PGA tour and already have a Nike sponsorship! Love creating and updating my own golfer, the pro shop is fun. Also playing as one of the pros, kind of different being able to hit a 360 yard drive! Enjoy all of the different formats of play also. Can't wait to unlock more courses. Hoping this will affect my real game in a positive way.
