5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   October 5, 2008
My 5 year old is nearly through challenge mode, and he is looking forward to playing the game through the third time. He says of Ratchet & Clank FTOD: "The best present of my whole life." I couldn't agree more. Great graphics, cool weapons, fun skins, right amount of challenges. Overall very impressive, and sets a new standard for video games. The only complaint is that my son won't let me have the controller!

5 out of 5 stars Insomniac pumps out another great title.   October 3, 2008
At first I thought this game may be a little too kiddy for my tastes, but when I started to play it I understood that Insomniac made this game for all age ranges. Long story short the game was great, a bit short, but nowadays which games aren't.

5 out of 5 stars The most fun I've had with my PS3 yet!   September 30, 2008
I bought this game strictly because it has very high ratings and I got it during Amazon's PS3 software 50% off sale (before the servers inexcusably crashed, but that's best left for another time...) I had no idea what to expect, but the price could not be passed up and the ratings gave me confidence that this was a gamble worth making. I definitely came out the winner of this deal.

This game is one of the best 3rd person shooters I've played in years. The graphics are gorgeous; the characters are adorable; the weapons are clever; the levels are well designed; and the humor is genuinely laugh-out-loud wonderful! The game is challenging enough that adults can have fun trying to get the extras that are available, but it easy enough that even young kids can play it successfully. My eight-year-old daughter has gotten quite far in the game herself.

What I particularly enjoyed is that once the game is "over", you can immediately start from the beginning in "Challenging" mode with all of your money and weaponry, but with more difficult enemies and with the ability to super-charge your weapons. Some of the individual puzzles change from the "normal" version as well. The levels themselves are no different; but you'll soon find that weapons that you thought were pretty good no longer are, so you'll have to change your tactics.

I enjoyed the game so much that I immediately bought its downloadable, episodic sequel when it was released, *and* I bought one of its PS2 prequels. (Granted, that won't help those who don't have backwards compatibility in their PS3...)

The game has a 5-star rating, and it so deserves it. I've been playing 1st and 3rd person shooters since the days of the Commodore 64 and the 286. The last time I immediately started a game over when I was done with it because I enjoyed it so much was "Max Payne" back in 2001. "Ratchet and Clank" has now holds that title.

Just buy this game. Yes, it's that much fun.

4 out of 5 stars RnC: Tools of Destruction Review   September 29, 2008
If you've ever played the previous RnC series, you know you're going to face the same gun-toting, treasure hunting, weapon upgrading, and planet exploring run through as the previous ones. the Weapons from this game are similar to the previous installment of Ratchet and Clank. If you like titanium bolt hunting and trying to get all the different armors and weapons (and then spending hours upgrading them) then you'll like this game. Worth another replay to upgrade all your items and the story line is good ol-fashioned disney type humor. All in all a decent game if you know the RnC games. Dont' expect too much though.

5 out of 5 stars Ratchet & Clank Future, Tools of Destruction   September 27, 2008
Fun videogame for all ages. Finished it rather quickly, but you have the option to go back and play in challenge mode. Not too difficult even in challenge mode, but it's fun.
