4 out of 5 stars Revenge of the Flying Dutchman   May 13, 2007
Another fun game in the Spongebob stable. If you like the tv series, you'll enjoy this game.

When I first played this it was so much fun I couldn't pull myself away! The main reason that I love this game is that it's bright and cheery, with some silly jokes and colorful, creative levels.
The object is to obtain all the tiles with the letters spelling "Spongebob" by finding them, winning races, or completing tasks. Some of them can be very tricky and frustrating, whether you can't find out how to get the tile, or if you have to keep retrying the task (I must have tried for two weeks to catch 100 Jelly fish because there was another area that I couldn't find with the remaining Jelly Fish waiting). When you find all the tiles you have a very simple sliding puzzle to solve which shows you a hint as to where the treasure chest is. Then you locate it and discover a new treasure of the Flying Dutchman. Here are my main likes and dislikes:
LIKES
-bright, colorful, non violent
-there are some very fun levels and tasks that I could play over and over again! (Sandy's Tree Dome level, where you have to plug all the holes in her dome with acorns!)
-there is a menu where you can see what the tasks are and how many you have completed so if you are stuck, you can find a little hint as to what you do next.
-some of the levels are really frustrating with obsticles that you find yourself doing over and over (Plankton World)
-there's a changing tent where spongebob can change into his Jellyfishing gear and other things after unlocking them

DISLIKES
-when you save the game in the middle of completing a task, it sometimes starts you back at the beginning of the task when you reload
-the graphics sometimes get a little nutty if your right in front of a rock or you're facing a blocked way.
-I CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE FINAL LEVEL. I'm faced with the Flying Dutchman who just keeps trying to kill me and I can't go anywhere and I can't fight him and it just keeps going on and on.
-once you get through all of the levels, it's not so much fun to play them again. I've started a whole new game 3 times and I've gotten really bored with it.
-sometimtes when you complete or fail a task there's a little dialogue or clip and sometimes you can't skip it so you have to wait three minutes before retrying.
-there's not much instruction, so that's how you're left confused, or doing tasks in a different order that may also leave you confused

Overall I would say this game is very cheery, sometimes annoying, and it gets old. I would reccomend it for ages over 8, unless you've got a child genius; sometimes you are left walking around because you can't figure out how to move on (I didn't know how to get to Jelly Fish Fields once, and it turns out that you had to find a jelly fish holding the ticket and catch it). Still, very Enjoyable!

Great game but there are two obvious tasks, there's beating Squidward to the KK. He walks like 2 mph.

And when you find the clown in JF, you have to defeat him to get the ticket to CW all you got to do is hit him once. Simple

4 out of 5 stars Not bad for a first try   January 15, 2006
You play as SpongeBob. He releases the Flying Dutchman from a bottle. The dutchman says that whoever disturbs his rest has to be on his crew. SpongeBob accidentally passes the buck to Gary. The Flying Dutchman will every so often take away one of SpongeBob's friends- first Gary, then Mr. Krabs, then Squidward, then Patrick, then Sandy. The only way to stop him is to collect all 7 of his treasures by exploring Bikini Bottom, Downtown, Tree Dome, Jellyfish Fields, Chum World, Goo Lagoon and Dutchman's Graveyard. Once you have all 7 treasures you can rescue your friends and then face the Flying Dutchman in the Final Showdown.

Pretty fun (yet fairly easy) game. I have beaten it several times and have never encountered this glitch everyone is talking about.
