Amazing Durability November 2, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this jumpdrive two years ago because I was told I would need it for a class. I didn't end up using it for that class, but it is one of the best buys I have ever made.
I won't get into the joy of having a jumpdrive, because if you are shopping you probably know. As for me, I picked this one because it was the cheapest the store had, as well as the cutest.
About a year ago, the inevitable happened and my jumpdrive was left in the pocket of my shorts, which then were washed. As I took my clothes out of the dryer after a full 60 minutes on the highest heat setting, I was horrified to find my little jumpdrive sitting in the dryer.
I was amazed that when I plugged it into my computer on a hopeful whim, my jumpdrive worked perfectly. It has been a year, and I have not had any problems with it whatsoever.
If you are wondering if this is a fluke, I went to the Lexar site to tell them, figuring they could use it as a testimonial and maybe I could even get some free stuff, to find almost all of their testimonials of a similar story, with the different models. One person has even washed their's three times and it still works! Once was panic enough for me, but I will only buy a jumpdrive, assuming I ever end up needing to get a new one.
really easy to use October 6, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to send pictures of the kids to my husband when he was in Afghanistan. It went back and forth for a year. I have been very happy with this purchase.
jump drive review September 13, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I appreciate the attractive apperance and price of this jump drive. I have had several occasions on where the jump drive does not make close enough contact with the port to registere. This can be a bit frustrating.
Worked well at first July 15, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mine worked fine at first, but I couldn't use it at home, because my Windows 98 didn't have the right drivers. I searched for them, and when I put the driver on my computer via a floppy disk, my USB drive decided to stop working. It didn't always work on the first try plugging it in to the USB slot (and sometimes took several tries before it died), but this time it was done. It wouldn't work at work anymore, too. I did notice a slight rattle when I shook it, so apparently it broke from the inside, but held up fine on the outside. It was in my front pants pocket just about every day for awhile, and the cap always stayed on, but it couldn't handle being moved around, I guess. Basically, I lost a lot of my data, because it wasn't all backed up on something else. These things are all risky, and make sure you have the important data stored somewhere else, so when it dies, it won't be a huge problem.
Handy Little Flash Drive May 5, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It worked great for me for about a year. The capacity was somewhat constricting but that's what i paid for.... Not a good choice if your computer is on the ground. I barely stepped on it and it busted. So its time for an upgrade!!!!
