Great product but short life May 16, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had this product for more than a year and had no problems until last month. I am unable to read the drive because of some I/O device error. On trying to get it resolved, I spent a lot of time since then troubleshooting, contacting product support, searching product issue forums etc - but havent been able to get the problem resolved. Seems I will have to scrap this piece and purchase a new one.
Great Flash Drive! March 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great product, easy to use...love the portability and mostly the cute skins I can change out!
great quality and easy to use March 24, 2007 i have no need for skins so my review doesn't cover them. the drive itself is excellent - boots quickly and easily and has never given me bad sectors or files. i use it for work and for personal endeavors, so it sees a lot of traffic. i love how small it is, and having the lanyard attached to the drive (and not the lid) alleviates any fear of losing the important part of the unit. that said, i've never lost the lid and the drive travels in my bag just about everywhere. i actually leave the lanyard on to prevent losing the drive; otherwise, it's so small it's easily missed. this is the second one i've bought, and i would buy another higher-capacity one if sandisk had kept this style ...
Very good, but not perfect February 12, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
All flash drives are very useful, and this one is no exception. It is great to be able to carry around files on a small dongle and not have to worry about drivers or network access.
But, all flash drives share that same functionality, so what sets this drive apart?
Well, it is 1GB of storage. Which is quite a bit right now (I don't think I'd need more at the moment), but storage capacities always increase as time goes on, and plenty of other manufacturers offer 1GB of storage as well.
This drive is special in that it is very small and slim. You'll never have to worry about whether or not it can fit in the space provided for a USB connection. It also offers fast read/write speeds, and doesn't overly try and load you up with extra software -- you can just plug it in and browse to it. However, it does come with optional software if you want to encrypt data, which is mostly useless since it is Windows-only.
The downside of this drive (and the reason I only gave it 4 stars) is that the rubber sleeves don't stand up to the test of time very well. The sleeve has two parts. One stays on the body of the drive, and one serves as the removable cap. The part that is supposed to stay on the drive begins to slide off easily over time -- especially when inserting and removing the drive from the computer. It just seems to lose its "tightness", and becomes almost useless. The cap fares better, and actually seems to stay on. The drive comes with three different sleeves and caps, but that doesn't address the problem, it only masks it for a while, until all three are loose. It would be better if the sleeve was not a separate removable part.
Other than the sleeve issue, it is a great drive. and should meet your needs.
Great product January 20, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm using this drive mainly to save documents from my graduation school works and for presentations. Sandisk makes great products.
