The software just gets in the way, hard to disable. THEN the drive is damaged if you dont go through the four step EJECT sequence. If you accidentally pull out the drive too soon it will be damaged and any files on the disk are ruined. Web is loaded with serious complaints about these-- don't even think about buying one
8 GB Cruzer - big memory/little package April 20, 2008
Plenty of memory in a small package. Software that comes with the Cruzer is mostly useful, but sometimes slows down the simple task of just using the device to exchange data with another computer. It can be removed, but its useful enough that I haven't opted to do so. The outside plastic case feels a little cheap, but this is probably because I'm comparing it to the Titanium Cruzer that I also have.

Fast transfers, 4GB gives you lots of memory to transport files, espessially assignments, papers, control files, graphics, resumes, or anything that needs storing. Works as advertised, works with Mac & PC, plug and play.

Works as advertised. U3 is attractive addition. Sometimes the retracting USB connector does not "catch" and retracts when one attempts to insert it into the computer.
Fast, Convenient, Reliable April 9, 2008

I love this thing. Some brands of 8G flash drive are SLOW, and
most of them come with a little cap for the USB connector that's
easy to lose. This cruzer, on the other hand, has a retractable
USB connector--no cap to lose. I use it as a live linux drive
(Ubuntu 7.10), and it's FAST--faster than the installed hard drive
on every machine I've tried it on. Until I got this thing, I
used flash drives only for secondary data storage.
Since I don't use the device under Windows, I downloaded a program
from the manufacturer that formats the whole drive and gets rid of
the u3 partition, so I can't say how the included software works.
