Kingston DataTraveler 2 GB June 20, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This unit will work with XP Professional but will NOT work with XP Home Edition (XP Home does not have the driver). You can get help from Kingston, but it's so complex, it's not worth the effort. I have XP Home, so I had to give it away to someone that had XP Pro. Do NOT buy this if you have XP Home. However, the Kingston DataTraveler ONE GB unit WILL work with XP Home (I have one).
Fast and easy June 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not much to say about flash drives -- they are about as simple a device as can be for storing files. This one works well, is fast, has a light to show access, and appears to be durable. Speed appears to be as fast or faster than similar drives I have from SanDisk and PNY.
Very pleased with it, and Amazon did their usual great job in getting it to me quickly at a great price.
Excellent Stick Drive June 18, 2008 Having owned various brands of stick drives in the past, I find Kingston's longevity superior to the others and the price is decent too.
Anyone using a stick drive should never put all his eggs in one basket, however---such drives CAN get lost or broken, with all your data on board. Back up its complete contents either to a folder on your desktop (which you update at least monthly), to a DVD-RW, or to another stick drive.
Great device for any computer June 13, 2008 What a great advance these little USB port memory drives are! No more Cd disk handling with all the delays, storage and other problems. Put this drive in the USB port, access it like any other drive on the computer, and remove it at your whim. Convenience was never so good. As to its superiority to others of its type, it is probably exactly the same...
2 GB USB jump drive June 11, 2008 I give this a thumbs up, very useful; better than the 1 GB U3 Scandisk I once had. I prepare and organize my PowerPoint presentations for Sundayschool and music for worship service on my main computer @ home, pop in the jump drive into my laptop when I get to church and I'm good to go. Love it
