best flash drive August 29, 2008 works fast and stores tons of music, files, etc. I love this brand and will continue to purchase Lexmar over SanDisk as it is more reliable and cost efficient
USB connector problem August 21, 2008 I have had my Lexar 4GB jump drive for about two months, and the usb connector is now loose. I have ordered a replacement of another brand, because I see where this has happened to someone else, and I no longer trust the Lexar brand.
Lexar Jumpdrive July 22, 2008 Nice portable memory, but design is a bit flawed. The USB connector can break, rendering all information inaccessible. Lexar was good enough to cover replacement under warranty, but worried that same thing will happen in the future. After warranty period, then what?
Started out fine.... July 20, 2008 Now it's almost a worthless POS. For starters, I've had a 256MB or so no-name flash drive for about 7 years. It's just plain USB... not 2.0. It's been reliable to this day. And that's including all the years I was just yanking it out of the port without doing the proper windows procedure.
I bought this Lexar 4GB thinking it would be just as reliable and an improvement because of the storage capacity as well as the name brand on it.
I've been using Portable Apps on it almost since I bought it. I've been running Photoshop CS2 from it from time to time but always writing/saving .psd files to it.
Well, in the last month to so it's been extremely slow when running Portable Firefox, the program I use most frequently. When I say slow I mean you get one click in then it bogs down for about a minute... pretty much making it unusable.
It's still be fairly reliable in terms of storage but for running my browser it's a piece of crap.
I'm already considering buying another flash drive of a different brand because of this one problem.
Would I recommend it? Only if you are using it for mass storage.
Works on Mac and PC June 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Two version of encryption softwares were included in the Jumpdrive, one for Mac and the other for PC. You can encrypted your file / partition in Mac and access it from PC and vice versa. The only limitation is that the PC version of encryption software need to run in user logged in with adequate permission. If your level of permission is not enough, you can only access the non-encrypted part.
