4 out of 5 stars Transcends my Kindle to a walking bookstore!   March 1, 2008

I bought this particular card specifically for my new Amazon Kindle. Even though the K instructions say to use SD memory cards up to 4GB, Kindle Forum users suggested 8 GB and, if you want to walk around with the equivalent of a Barnes and Noble Superstore in your beach bag, some install 16 GB. You know how some people are--always pushing things to new limits of overkill, like the church-going granny driving alone in a Chevy Suburban 4x4.

I hear all SD cards are not the same (even though they look the same to me), but I bought this Transcend card (because the blue color was mighty fetching) on a One-Click and a prayer. When it arrived, I popped it into the K and, bingo, recognized! It says 7.5 GB storage remaining, so the other 1/2 GB is lost to operational memory, sort of like my own brain after that weekend on Key West, living on frozen mango beverages, when I brain farted and lost the words to "Margartitaville" by the third plastic cup--but I'll save that tale for our next Kindle-side chat, friends.

Anyhoo, the thing works for me (and don't you cringe when people write "anyhoo"). I'm a technological piss-kid, so I have zero idea if this card is "fast as Mazola on a summer hog" or "slow as Valerie Bertinelli wolfing Jenny Craig peanut butter".

"Alls I know is that it works real swell in a Kindle, right Spanky?", said Alfalfa, an early Kindle adopter.

I agree, Cowlick. Enjoy the Kindle!

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Product   February 29, 2008

I purchased the SD card about three weeks ago to use in a Sanyo Xacti HD700. So far the product has worked perfectly with no glitches. I was hesitant about buying this brand, but most reviews were positive. Again, I have had no issues so far, the speed and storage capacity has been great.
