5 out of 5 stars Good little USB hub   August 4, 2008
**UPDATE: I have just moved to Vista x64 and can attest that this hub does not cause any problems. A previous reviewer noted this hub may cause lockups using x64. My laptop sleeps and wakes just fine. Must be a MS thing. I will be buying another for my wife's laptop shortly.

This hub is nifty. No problems for me so far...

pros: Nice shape and finish. Sturdy design. I like the fact that it has 4 ports on the rear and the other 3 up front. Makes it so that all the wires are going back instead of forwards. I plugged it in using vista x86 and everything went fine. The removable hub from the base is an awsome idea. I use it on a laptop at home and can take it with on the go!

cons: Charger input to hub is kinda flimsy, but stays. Blue light on top could be annoying for some but I like it because it's not on the front blinding me.

I read a review on this somewhere here that the hub slides off the base too easily. Well I don't know if the company addressed this issue after the fact, but it comes with a stick-on pad for extra resistance that works really well. I would definitely reccomend this hub to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars Nice hub, but contributes to crashes in Vista 64   July 31, 2008
Apart from the serious Vista 64 crashes described below which I suspect are not entirely the fault of the hub, this device works flawlessly and seems very well built. Why the blue light on top is bright enough to light a runway is beyond me, but it's easily corrected.

Unfortunately, when I have the hub plugged into my newish HP Pavilion that is running Vista Ultimate 64, the machine will most often fail to wake up from sleep and become completely unresponsive to any measure apart from a forced shutdown. Interestingly, all of the LED indicators on the machine come on, then...nothing. The screen and my external monitor remain black, no key on the keyboard works, the machine won't go back to sleep, it becomes absolutely frozen.

I don't think that this is a hub problem per se since it doesn't come with drivers, and I've read Vista has some wake/resume issues, but this NEVER happens without the hub attached and the latest Vista service pack hasn't fixed the issue. Hopefully you have better luck.

OS: Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Machine: HP Pavilion dv6675, external HP w2408h monitor, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS, 4GB RAM
Devices attached to hub: Sennheiser USB headset, USB keyboard, Microsoft USB mouse, Epson USB printer

4 out of 5 stars Best USB hub I've used so far   July 26, 2008
I am Mac user and it's been working perfectly so far. I usually use all 7 connections: 2 ext. HD, 2 mouse, 1 printer, 1 Wacom, 1 scanner. so far No Cons. warks great!

5 out of 5 stars Cables to go USB hub   July 24, 2008
This hub does the job well. I screwed onto the side of my entertainment/pc center and it has helped with my organization of all the USB cables and RF receivers. It feels like it is made to last, but only time will tell. The light is pretty bright, but not so much so that it annoys me.
