Excellent purchase August 4, 2008 This is a great quality product. When I started using it all the people I connected with over the Internet asked me about the actual difference in reception (for the good) and many of them eventually purchased the same product as I did.
Easily broken August 3, 2008 The headset is comfortable, and the sound quality is acceptable. Unfortunately, this product is simply not sturdy. The USB plug came apart the second time I unplugged it, even though I was being gentle. Then, when I accidentally knocked the headset off my 30" desk onto a carpeted floor, the earpiece popped off. I gave up after trying 15 minutes to reattach it. I've never seen such cheap construction in a piece of electronics costing more than $10.
Exact opposite of its name August 3, 2008 I purchased these because my old headset finally gave up the ghost. They can be described in one word...Uncomfortable.
My ears and the top of my head (exactly where the "padding" is) becomes sore after a few minutes of use.I wear a headset long hours at a time,so image how painful these are.
Sound quality is good, heck everything else about them is good to very good.So if you want something you only wear for short periods these are for you.Everyone else find something better.
Perfect for podcasts, listening to music, internet telephone August 1, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love the Logictech ClearChat headset. The ear pieces are nicely padded, with excellent noise canceling sound. The rigid microphone boom can be lowered or raised, according to whether you want to record/talk or just listen. They work equally well with both Windows and Mac OS X machines, with no driver software required. Because they connect using a USB source, they are strictly for computers, however, and cannot be used with stereo systems or iPods.
Within minutes of opening the box and plugging the connection into a USB slot, I was able to create a high-quality podcast on my Mac using Garage Band, part of the Apple iLife '08 suite. (To hear the sound quality of the podcast, email me or go to my Amazon Connect page on my profile.) My Mac immediately identified the headset as a possible input/output device, although I had to manually change the previous settings to use it. The mute button, located halfway down the cord, works instantly, without any clicks, although it's not always easy to tell whether the blinking red light means the mike is muted (it does) or whether it should be a steady red light.
The sound quality is excellent, although obviously the source and medium can limit the quality. Just as important, the headset is extremely comfortable; I was able to wear the ClearChat for hours without any fatigue or discomfort. The wire leading from the headset to the mute button seems like it might be fragile, so people who walk around while wearing their headsets might encounter problems. All in all, the Logitech ClearChat is an excellent value.
Worst headphones ever bought July 30, 2008 Don't be fooled by the label "ClearChat" - this headset is everything but clearchat... Although there is nothing wrong with the sound quality of the earphones, the microphone is horrible! I use it to talk with my family in my home country and the problem with this model is that whenever I'm not actually speaking into the microphone, it creates a loud and annoying, constant noise on the listener's side, which makes it extremely difficult to communicate. I had to repeat almost everything I say. So in the end I had to return to my old headphones (also Logitech) of which only the right earpiece is still working. At least the microphone is still working well.
