The Z-Pen does all its advertised to do. You don't need any special paper or ink either! Most of the reviews for this product were posted when the Z-Pen was first released. All of the kinks have been ironed out and it work perfectly

I bought a Z-Pen in high hopes. It worked ok for about 3 sessions and then just stopped working. I have written twice to Dane-Elec Corporation asking them to either send me new pen or return my money. They have not even had the courtesy to reply. Don't buy this product.

Maybe in time this product will be good, but for now stay away from it. It only worked once and then nothing. I hope they get it together and it get it working because it truly would be an outstanding product to have.

Great product, could not find another that would offer all these features i.e. no special paper, ink refill available from multiple online sites (approx. $1.50/pcs) and most importantly mobility. The software for the pen does not install on the computer/laptop, only the Notes Script. It offers storage directly on the reader so once it is connected to a different computer notes are still accessible instantly. Handwriting recognition is function of ... personal handwriting. Price is more than decent for the features offered. The reader doubles as a storage device up to 1G.
IoGear Digital Scribe is very similar but not mobile as it works only when the reader is connected to the computer.

I recommend NOT BUYING this product right now. I've had two and had to return both. This product is now officially on recall. Buy at your own risk!
