5 out of 5 stars Apple iMac Desktop with 24" Display   August 8, 2008
A beautiful piece of equipment. A nice space saver and very fast and easy to setup. I've had no problems using the computer or adding additional programs to the system. Great Help program built in and also nice online Help and Forum programs available.

I have been using PC's since 1981 and recently purchased my first MAC.
This is the way God meant for computing to be.
The transition was simple and easy. All other computers should be made illegal

5 out of 5 stars Quick and Quiet, I Love This Computer!!!   August 5, 2008

I have owed Macs for over 15 years now and the latest intel versions are great. I have vmware fusion and run windows XP on a virtual machine. These new Macs are fast. They boot windows faster than our HP!

I have a 24" 2.8 GHz mac from 2007 and I purchased this 20" 2.66 GHz for my business partner. I have been setting it up for her over the last 10 hours or so and I can say that the screen looks brighter and deeper than my 24" and it runs very fast. What impressed me most however was how quiet the hard drive is. Mine is a 750GB drive that makes a more higher pitched sound when read/writing. This Mac has a more lower pitched sound that is much quieter than mine. I really like this one.

The new keyboard has a very nice tactile feel and the mouse works great. Runs super smooth. Love it! This is going to sync up nicely with her new iPhone 3G!

5 out of 5 stars My first Mac   August 1, 2008
This is a great machine, I couldn't be more pleased. Everything worked perfectly right out of the box and I was able to figure out how to use everything based on intuition alone. The only challenge is going to be resisting the temptation to join the hordes of "you MUST buy a Mac" people.

5 out of 5 stars Can't beat a Mac   July 28, 2008
First computer I owned was an Apple 2e, then switched to PC's. Three years ago a friend let me use his 17" "Apple G4 laptop, after a couple hours I was sold. I gave my daughter my PC and got an Apple laptop. Last month my son decided he wanted the laptop, so I decided on the 24" iMac and it's a powerhouse. I don't experience any glare from the screen as some others have mentioned, it's by far the best computer I have ever owned. The packaged software / operating system Leopard 10.5 is amazing and the ever increasing freeware / shareware is jumping by leaps and bounds. I use my old firewire external drive to save individual files as handy backups along with a USB external drive to use for my TimeMachine scheduled system backups. The two USB ports on the keyboard are nice feature to plug camera, GPS, iPod etc when you want a access point for specific hardware purpose and then want to get rid of the cord clutter. Spaces is another great feature, I use 4 virtual desktops with my setup - one for Internet, one for email accounts, one for utilities and the last for photography. Going from desktop to desktop is just a mouse click or key stroke away. Great machine with an outstanding display and Apple's reputation and name standing behind the iMac is a homerun.
