3 out of 5 stars SANDISK LACKS CUSTOMER SERVICE   September 28, 2008
I BOUGHT TNHIS PLAYER FROM ONE OF AMAZONS'S DROP SHIPPER, (NOT THEIR FAULT) AND AFTER I RECEIVED IT, THE MICRO CARD SLOT WOULD NOT ACCEPT A MICRO CARD.....KEEPS FALLING OUT. I CALLED THE COMPANY THAT SHIPPED IT (TheFactoryDepot) and they tell me that they have no replacement, that a new model in out. So I called SANDISK, AND THEY TELL ME TO RETURN IT TO AMAZON, AMAZON SAYS IT WAS SHIPPED BY (TheFactoryDepot) .....I'M BACH TO WHERE I STARTED WITH TheFactoryDepot.

i CALLED SANSISK AGAIN AND DEMANDED THAT IT BE REPLACED.....THIS TIME AFTER A FEW E-MAILS, THE GAVE ME AN RMA # AND PREPAID POSTAGE TO SHIP IT BACK.....THAT WAS ALMOST A MONTH AGO. cALLED SANDISK AGAIN AND THEY NOW TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THIS PLAYER STILL LISTED ON AMAZON EITHER, THEY WILL GET BACK WITH ME WHEN THEY FIND ONE.

WELL IT'S ALMOST OCTOBER AND THEY HAVE NOT GOT BACK TO ME YET......NOT MORE SANDISK PRODUCTS FOR ME

4 out of 5 stars Sansa e280 review   September 26, 2008
The e200 series of sansa is a set of players that are easy to operate, have sleek design and good sound quality.
It's main disadvantage is that it has a low volume output.
I would recommend anyone that is sick of the limitation i-pod world dictates to consider the sansa player as a great alternative.

4 out of 5 stars Always at my side!!!   September 20, 2008
I bought this little guy last February and it has seldom left my side. It works great with Rhapsody music service. I use it to listen to music, audio books, and radio. It has been dropped a couple of times and remains well intact. I would advise getting a memory card if you like lots of different music like I do.

4 out of 5 stars Fabulous Player - be cautious of the VERSION you are buying   September 20, 2008

I would like to highly recommend this player. However, do be careful when buying a refurbished player that you are getting a Version 2 and not a Version 1, especially if you plan to add more memory to it. I originally purchased a refurbished player (e280), not realizing that there WAS a version 1 AND a version 2. There was never anything written ANYWHERE (even on the Sandisk website!) about there being two versions. The big difference is that with the Version 1, you can only add a maximum of 2 GB. I wanted to purchase the e280 which has 8 GB, and add an additional SD card with another 8 GB, giving me a 16 GB player. AMAZON was really great about taking back the Version 1, and then I found a refurbished version 2 and purchased that instead. I also purchased an 8 GB SD card, and upgraded to a 16 GB player. Then I purchased a wall charger, an car charger, a crystal case, and a cassette adapter for my car stereo. The total cost for everything, including shipping was only $117.00. I was HAPPY and it worked just fine, if a bit heavy to carry around. I finally got a clip for the crystal cover, and now I can clip it on my clothing and off I go...happy as can be. At least, I was very happy until...I plugged the player into my car charger, and "POP". Then NOTHING. The damn thing blew out. I was paralyzed and shocked. After two months of all that confusion and trying to get the right player and all the accessories, and poof, gone. I came home and called Sandisk, and they were incredibly helpful. We were able to reboot the player, and then I was informed that I had an old version of the software on the player, and it needed to be updated in order for the car charger to work. They walked me through the download and installation process, and the player was back in order just fine. Now it updates itself automatically when I plug it in to the computer. The car charger should work fine now, but I'm still too scared to try it again. I'll wait until I have the energy to reboot the whole thing again, just in case its necessary. That last episode nearly made me throw the whole thing in the garbage and go buy an IPod. But I'm very happy I got this, and am ripping my entire CD collection so I can listen to it all. This 16 GB player will hold 4,000 songs (in WMA) ! I'm a happy camper, and would recommend this player to anyone. It's easy to use, has loads of functions, is small (although a bit heavy), and Sandisk gives great technical assistance for free.

My son ordered this so he didn't have to carry a cassette player to classes on campus. He's very happy with it.
