5 out of 5 stars So Cool!   February 27, 2008

This software is awesome for kids who really want to learn to type or parents looking for help teaching their kids. It makes learning fun and easy. My son and I both love it and he was faster and more accurate after the first lesson. One recommendation, don't let your kids skip ahead to the games that are above their skill level because, if their like mine, it will just cause frustration.

5 out of 5 stars Makes a boring activity fun   February 19, 2008

With this product I was finally able to get my daughter to learn to type.
It makes a boring and tedious subject fun to learn.

5 out of 5 stars Spongebob Typing program is a great one!   January 9, 2008

When I first opened this program, I was afraid it may be too hard for a beginning typist. Fortunately, once I worked through it, I found where the beginning skills practice was located. There are several levels available and even though some levels are pretty advanced, my 7 year old son enjoyed watching me use my typing skills to attempt to get a high score. I think it motivated him to try to develop his skills. I would recommend this product to others because all children in this day and time need to learn proper typing skills and since Spongebob is such a popular character, it is great for motivation!

2 out of 5 stars clunky on mac and no backups   January 2, 2008

The game is okay, but a little confusing in terms of finding the places you want to go - lessons, practice, games, etc. They are not labeled very well.

The game did work on my Macintosh computer, but not very well. The graphics kept messing up.

Finally, the company does not let you make a backup copy of the disc, which I find absurd. As a younger children's product, the company should realize the disc is not going to be in the most pristine of environments and that parents might want to make a backup. After contacting customer service, I was told that if the disc is damaged, you have to pay $11 for a new one. I may as well buy the whole game over again.

Spongebob is the only good feature of this product because it appeals to the children. Next time, I'd go with a different company.

4 out of 5 stars Everything You Could Ask for in a Typing Method...   November 12, 2007

I don't understand why some parents would slam this software... perhaps they didn't even take the time to review it in detail with their kids... sure there are games in there, (to help practise typing skills), but if you use the "Typing tournament" section there is a very well thought out graduated set of typing lessons that methodically introduces children to the various keys, giving them instruction on correct fingering, and walking them through drills to build their proficiency. What more could you ask for? Plus my 9 year old son loves it and can't wait to do another lesson when he gets home from school. Highly recommended!
