5 out of 5 stars Super fun   September 28, 2008
This and all of the Luxor games are just a blast to play. I've played Atlantis, but these are so much better. More things are happening, yet they are still very playable.

5 out of 5 stars Great challenge & fun!   February 24, 2008
This gaming style may be a little dated but it is still fun. Quite challenging in the expert levels.

5 out of 5 stars Fun game for the whole family   December 17, 2007
We bought this game because my 4 year old son liked it so much when he played it at grandma's house. It is one of grandma and grandpa's favorite games and now my husband and I are also addicted to it! The beginning levels are easy enough for young kids but then it gets more challenging, which adults will love. This is an easy game to understand but you don't get bored. This game is very fun and very addicting! We love it at our house.

4 out of 5 stars A ZUMA-CLONE WITH AN INTERESTING PHARAOHNIC THEME   December 5, 2007
After ZUMA's success, a number of clones appeared - but the LUXOR series is the one that actually improved on some aspects of the concept.

A series of colored balls (with the number of different colors increasing every few levels) gets pushed and you have to match them in sets of three or more in order to remove them - and prevent them from reaching the end zone. Instead of having the "shooter" in the center, it is located at the bottom and it slides left and right. This makes for some quite difficult shots (especially when obstructed by the advancing row of balls) and raises the difficulty of the game.
On the other hand, the power-ups are more powerful, at the end of every round a number of coins and gems drop and "catching" them add lives to your paddle. It seems pretty straight-forward yet it can become highly...addictive!

Compared to the first installment of the series, LUXOR-AMUN RISING seems somewhat easier; yet, it will fulfill the funs craving for more pharaohnic fun!

This is an example of what has come to be known as Casual Gaming: small, resource-light games that are fun for the whole family.
It would be a good idea to download the 60-min trial version from a casual games site, such as REFLEXIVE (you can Google it), and decide for yourself whether this is indeed your cup of tea.

RECOMMENDED!

5 out of 5 stars Puts me in the WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN zone.. and keeps me there   August 26, 2007

This is really a simple arcade game, but the visual sound effects and the increasing complexity will hold my interest and keep me from Reno! I am sure I could read the directions and cut through to some quicker advancres, but hey- I wanna play and make my own strategies (and there are strategies!)
