Great game, but missing something June 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game concept alone is genius and you will probably spend countless hours playing this game when first purchasing it. Although its very good, it can get quite old after a while and the difficulty level becomes very frustrating. Having a great team with great players is not enough to beat a mediocre team. One has to constantly play with tactics and adjust to each team and that can get restless. The information needed to play the game is not provided and has to be found by countless hours in search of it in the internet. At the same time, its a gem.. its the best game in its class and you will find yourself jumping for joy as one of your small circle scores against Manu, real madrid or any other power house in your league. Very addicting and worth the purchase. Fifa manager 09 might be this years diamond, though. I really hope Amazon carries it this year so we can purchase it.
The Game of Games June 18, 2008 This is for soccer lovers..It gives you a deep knowledge of the world of soccer. It puts you in the driving seat and makes you feel in control.Your decisions count on every front so you would want to make the right one..and remember there is nothing like making decisions and earning sweet victory through them.
wish i would have played this game sooner June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
dumb americans like me aren't that exposed to this game, which is why it took me so long to try it. after all the soccer leagues in europe ended for the summer, i was bored playing FIFA '08 so i thought i'd give this game a try. wow it's the dream game for a nerd like me who spends most of time doing the behind the scenes stuff on FIFA anyway, instead of playing actual games.
i'm impressed with the size of the database and how indepth it can get with youth teams and all. there is just so much to this game it's hard to put it in words. try it for yourself. it's definitely not for everyone. but i found that it's perfect for me.
First WSM Game Played and Loving It April 2, 2008 I got this game right after New Years and I am addicted to it. I am a very passionate soccer fan and I love the beautiful game. This game is a must for a avid, passionate soccer fans. My favorite soccer club is WKS Slask Wroclaw which is in the Polish II division. You would be lucky to find even the Polish I division in other games but the database on this game is unbelievable. To have extensive on very unknown clubs and not popular leagues is one thing. But the roster of my II division team is so accurate to real life it is unbelievable. I would never find this accuracy with the PES series or the FIFA series (though they are two different types of games). When I play I actually think I am the manager of the club I have loved all my life. This is my first Worldwide Soccer Manager game and I love it. Most games I get bored after a couple of months but I am still very excited about this game. 100/100!!!
Thoroughly engrossing March 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is something of an improvement over the previous version. At any rate, it is the kind of simulation that I find thoroughly engrossing. While not a lifelong fan of football (soccer) my Navy service in Scotland got me very interested in the game. This game includes tactical and management actions, and it's very interesting to see the "personal level" of involvement that develops when trying to figure out a player's character. I have never liked "joystick" type sports simulations, and this is DEFINITELY NOT that type. I've played the evolving versions of this game (Championship Manager, etc.) for over 8 years and really do enjoy it. I am a 59-yearold male.
