WORST EVER!!!! July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cannot testify to the difficulty of other products to install, but this product is the worst ever. I went through nearly 30 different attempts to install this product. Including: "CLEAN" uninstalls, removing any previous roxio software, updating device drivers, shutting off any and all firewalls, shutting off virus scanners, uninstalls included going into regedit and using windows uninstaller. Also tried opening windows as a new account (the only suggestion by Roxio staff). Also, went into msconfig and ensured certain programs were not running at the recommendation of some fellow product buyers who thought the product also sucked....BEST OF LUCK IF YOU BUY THIS PRODUCT....
Roxio creator 10 July 28, 2008 Although this is a comprehensive package, it is quite a memory hog. It takes a long time to load and respond. A small interface program which opens needed programs would probably work better.
Media Creator Works July 24, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have used Roxio products for several years. Each version they release contains features that have helped me do some creative things with slide shows and DVD movies. I am quite satisfied with what Roxio provides for the price of the product.
Terribly disappointed in Amazon, not the product July 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have no idea how to review this purchase since Amazon has twice sent me the wrong item, even though with the first one I specifically asked for a refund, they sent a "replacement" - the EXACT same item. I ordered a CD version of the software, and they sent me the DVD version. My computer does not have DVD capabilities, so I can't install it. I asked for a refund and was very specific in my reason for returning the original product. So rather than follow my instructions, they sent a "different" copy - which is the DVD version. Which still does me no good. I am sure it is a good enough product, I'll never know. Thanks Amazon,.
Got it for video but audio and photo are just as good July 23, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
My first try with Roxio easy media was version 9 with the Dazzle video converter. The bundle gave me a method of turning all my tapes into digital media. I waited a bit for the price drop of 10 since 9 wasn't that old and I'm astounded at how different, yet similar it is. At first glance 10 doesn't look very different than 9 but there are now a bunch of new things that make it a different enough program. Video with Videowave and cinemagic: each program has a few more options from 9. The biggest change I found was the soundtrack. It is now much easier to do. It also edits HD video. None too soon considering tv broadcast changes. Music: Biggest changes here. It makes batch formatting changes and rips disks from several drives at once. The automix is more elaborate. Photo: It makes autofixes. If I don't like the results I can use the manual setting changes. More album adn slideshow formats. Gadgets: This is new and makes the program a step above others. I can take any media file and convert it to my phone and ipod. It works the other way by sending media to the pc from the gadgets. Disk burning: Burning is relatively the same but complementary tools are better. It catalogs the disk contents, something I felt was needed in 9. I see that it can copy HD and blueray disks, but I don't have the proper burners yet to test. For anyone wanting to convert tapes I would recommend this program, regardless of what converter you have. I don't see any need for any side programs to finish media projects.
