This product works great. It has all the applications I could possibly need for burning and at a great price as well.

Nero 8 Ultra manages all your media file with ease. It does exactly what it says in the box. I can see why some people have given it some bad reviews on here, it is somewhat hard to use if you don't know what you are doing. I don't like the fact that it doesn't give you tips on what it's going to do or something and that you have to go read the LONG manual in order to know what to do. BUT once that is over and done with it's an OK product. It manages my recorded videos, pics, and unprotected music files that I ripped from my cd collection.
My installation went smoothly, but I didn't have any previous editions of Nero. Installation does take a while though, but I didn't mind. I recommend this to people who have at least an idea of what they want to do with this software, because it does it's job well, but it doesnt tell you exactly what to do. OK buy for the price over all.

When I bought my dvd burner it came with Roxio 8.2xe. Very hard to manage, tough to make it work right. Hard to edit chapters. Downloaded the free 2 week trial version of Nero 8 ( smart move on their part!) and loved it. Bought it a few days later from Amazon.com
I do not like the photo editor on this software, but I can use another program for that. For making audio cd and dvd(s) from your old vhs tapes it works great. It does have software to publish onto youtube, but I do not use that function.
I hope they allow better backround title page themes soon. I end up using my own pictures every time. Luckily you can eliminate whatever you don't want to use on them by right clicking. Extra text boxes etc.

I had been using an earlier version of Nero. Naturally it wouldn't work on my new computer with Vista. Even though the computer came with similar software I know and trust Nero to perform exactly as advertised. I wouldn't be without it.

I had no trouble whatsoever installing and getting Nero 8 to work. However, I never had a version of Nero on my computer before, so I was able to avoid the problems other reviewers were writing about. Its very simple to use once you figure out what-does-what in the program. I would recommend this to anyone who has had the bad experience of Roxio, etc - you can do SO much more with this product. I hope Nero fixed the upgrading problem that others have spoken about before for Nero 8. If you've never had it on your current machine, the install and using the program will be smooth as silk! Great schtuff! ;)
