 Better than Microsoft Paint and even Paint Shop Pro for Logos August 16, 2006

Okay, i didn't want to buy a logo software, since I already had Paint Shop Pro 8.0 and my plain but-trusty Microsoft Paint Program, which I use for all graphics needs. So I decided to put my own art skills and creativity to the test using graphics programs to create my logo, instead hiring somebody to do it for me (spending a ton of money and I might even like it as much as if i do it myself!).
I was able to put together a few logo ideas with those graphic programs of mine, but it TOOK SO LONG, it WAS NOT POLISHED AND CLEAN, I WISH THERE WERE LOGO-LIKE TEMPLATES. I bought a few cheaper logo softwares (under $50 range), and this software was the best out of all of them.
I would not call this a 99 cent type of logo software. There's far worse than this. The good points about this one compared to other crappier software IMO:
- Sharp looking templates
- Templates offer a wide variety of colors
- Templates do not look cheap and drawn out, or way too flashy
Mind you, I was going for a "large corporation look", rather than a cheap, low-budget, internet start-up look. So this program really had the style to accomplish this objective of mine.
(The other software had a lot of flashy templates, where you could create logos for perhaps a bar or nightclub down the street, not for a professional company that would to be respected by serious clients.)
As far as a software to help me brainstorm ideas, and easily put together and test out a wide range of colors and shapes, that come out looking clean, sharp, and refined...the software really eased my ability to do so. The other graphics programs (however good for pictures and drawings and other applications), were not designed specifically or making logos... thus they took a lot longer and ended up being less clean and polished than what this logo software could produce in a lot less time.
I'm glad I shelled out the $30 i did to help me develop my very own logo with my own mind and bare hands. If you care about your company, but still are on a budget, and want something that will pop out prospective logos easily (and let you tweak all your ideas easily) this would be worth the $30.

When a product mysteriously has 6 reviews all from April 5 and 6, all written in the same style, with the same exclamation points everywhere, the usual marketing superlatives like "fantastic", "amazing", etc., the entire rating system becomes corrupted for legitimate users and legitimate reviews. Marketing people will need to learn to let actual USERS review products.

It's to bad some reviewers are allowed to rate a product so low without giving any really good reason or any specific details on why this product disappointed them so much.
I have been a happy LDS user for some time. You cannot beat the price considering that between the crazy amount of cool features, and hundreds of logo graphics and premade templates, there is pretty much no limit to what you can create. I've used LDS to create graphics for halloween, birthdays and other fun events and holidays, on top of creating a logo for my ebay business. This product is well supported and has a ton of expansion packs to add to the program. Summitsoft even has a demo of it to try before you buy, so you can essentially take any reviewers words with a grain of salt and see for yourself.

Isn't it a shame that there is no way to stop these people posting positive reviews on their own crap. I, myself, would urge you to stay well away.

I didn't actually purchase this software, but rather used it on a friends computer, and I must say this is certainly one of the cheaper [read: low quality] software packages on the market. This software is something I would expect to find in a 99 cent bin.
Save your time and money, shop for something else. Like dubyuhdubyuhdubyuh-daht-thelogocreator-daht-cahm
