5 out of 5 stars Myst saga is still the best game ever!   April 3, 2007

I am a Myst lover since this first one! I could not stop playing until the end. Myst is a puzzle game with a great story. That's the first one of a great saga. You are alone on the island of Myst, professor Atrus and family home, and have to solve puzzles not really simple but if you are a good observer and listener you will get them. This one is a simple left click and go. Don't give you freedom to move like the others that came after, but i's Myst and you get involved with Atrus and his family, and his linking books. Atrus is a professor who is lovely and gentle who researched and studies most of his life, loves his sweet wife, but has a complicated family. And you arrive to help him because he is in a big trouble. You go around worlds and get the clues and solve puzzles to find out what really happened in Atrus almost perfect world. Have fun. I did and still do.

5 out of 5 stars A blast   March 7, 2007

Having this was a blast because I could go from one game to another without having to go out and get it. To have all three games makes it so easy and fun because when I finished Myst I went directly to Riven. All the information from Myst was still fresh in my head. It was the same as I went to Exile from Riven.

1 out of 5 stars They said it would work on a Mac.....   February 23, 2007

I don't know how fun this game is or how I rate it because I CAN'T load it on my Mac! It's Mac compatible but the list of instructions to download it onto my machine is so long and complicated (and incomplete) that I can't play it. Very sad!

4 out of 5 stars Works on Vista -- with a couple glitches   February 19, 2007

I just wanted to let everyone know that Myst, at least, is compatible with Vista, though it did hang up a few times. Save often.

It hung on me 4 times over the course of playing it through, and 3 of those times I had to use the Task Manager to end it; the 4th time, it simply quit on its own. I suspect that had I waited, that would have happened the other 3 times as well.

But for a 14-year-old piece of software on a new O/S, it worked pretty well.

I haven't tried Riven or Myst III yet, but since they're newer, I'm hoping they'll be equally compatible. We'll see....

It was about time to revisit the Myst series. What fantastic fun. I was not disappointed. Great mental challenge, although impossible without a few cheats.
