3 out of 5 stars Payment Method a Scam?   December 21, 2004

All over the world, where WOW is released the pre-paid cards (that you can supposedly buy from a shop) are not available until a month after release. This is forcing people to use the credit card method of payment which of course suits Blizzard to ensure a steady supply of $$$. Also, when you sign up, there is no info. on how you can stop the credit card debits. I suggest don't buy the game until the pre-paid cards are out.

1 out of 5 stars What the heck, Blizzard?!?!?   November 30, 2004

Ok...so upon getting my shiny copy of W.O.W. Collector's Edition...I find that to access my 30 Day "Free" trial, I have to have in my posession the 60 Day, 30 dollar Pre-Paid Game Card...? WHAT?!?!?! Sooooo...by wanting to not hand my credit card numbers over to Blizzard I have to pay for my "FREE" trial and am not eligible for any discounted rates like anyone using other payment methods can get (i.e. pay 6 months in advance with your credit card and only pay $12.99 per month total). Does anyone else think this is insanely stupid? I played the beta, bought the COLLECTOR'S edition, and am now being punished for not wanting to hand out a credit card number to another MMORPG. Sorry Blizzard, but you guys really dropped the ball on this one. Great game...bad financial department. Maybe you should rethink your payment schemes. Oh, and incidentally, as of me writing this, Pay Pal doesn't work, either...even though it should. It's good to know the game is bug free...too bad the payment options aren't.

ok this is good... but i was wondering if amazon.com will be having the 6 month cards available too?... you know... the ones that make it so it costs 13 dollars a month instead of 14 like the 2 month one or 15 like the 1 month one does... i would really appreciate it if they started having those available...
