page layout made easy January 7, 2008
After having used PageMaker, a high-end page layout program, for more than 15 years, I had some doubts as to whether I could get used to software that was new and challenging. The answer is yes, and though I am still learning the fundamentals of the Pages portion of the iWork software, I like what I see. And that's largely because of the directions and aids that make the entire process fairly easy for first-time users, as well as those who have been around the block a few times.
I plan to use the Pages program of the iWork collection primarily to produce newsletters and brochures, and have confidence that I will be pleased with the results.

I purchased this software as a Christmas gift and the person that I gave it to is very satisfied with the software. This software is mac software for the mac computer.

Move over MS office, Iwork 08 is here. Easy to use exactally what you need and no frills to cover up poor performance. This is all you need!

I am not a power user but I find that the parts of iWork that I've used so far are very good. Pages works well for letters and notes and when used with the Grab capture utility it is just right for making text slides for iPhoto slideshows. All the programs start and are ready to run in a blink on my new iMac 24". Opening documents from other programs has been easy.
iWork and iLife programs in general are great and work together very well. And knowing Apple, they will get better and better.

WOW! I was really, pleasantly surprised at how refined and well-executed this suite is. FAR more intuitive than Microsoft Office, with intuitive controls, excellent formatting, and very aesthetically pleasing results. I haven't tested the MS Office compatibility yet, but others are reporting decent compatibility. Plus, it is a Cocoa-based application suite (meaning it is very well integrated with OS X), and "feels" great to use.
Strongly recommended!
