This product is practical and very good, but I wish that it was possible to use a tool to type and print envelopes.

No wonder why university students, once they give them there macbook's or macbook pros. they take the features such as iWork, its simple because it makes there life way easier. iWorks its really simple to use, even a noobie can use it!!

This is a great software product, and between this and neoffice, you probably will have all your needs covered. The highlight of this package continues to be Keynote. This is simply the finest presentation software available for the Mac. It is fast and elegant. For large presentations, Powerpoint on the mac is nearly useless with sloooowww screen redraws and poor slide sorting. Keynote on the other hand is lighting fast. Numbers is the spreadsheet reimagined, and again offers a superior user interface in comparison to Excel. Pages is superb as a fast layout program. It admittedly does not offer the heavyweight editing features as Word does, but for most users, it is more than adequate.

Apple iWork '08 Family Pack Excellent upgrade for iWork. More templates, more powerful and easier to use. Now the package includes the long awaited Spread Sheet program which now makes iWork a complete and easily useable package. The new Spread Sheet program brings a fresh new perspective to spread sheets and in typical Apple fashion brings fun to working with spread sheets.

I work in a highly integrated setting with Windows/Mac and mostly MS Office generated media. I have both Office and iWork on my computer. Up to the most recent release of iWork, Office has pretty much been my workhorse because there are no document conversion issues and Office still did the job better.
Now with the most recent iWork release, I am using the Apple product for a greater percentage of my work. The conversion from Word, Excel and Powerpoint is about 90% accurate. Pages still has the most formatting foibles - mostly misplaced tabs and indents leading to unsightly spacing. Keynote does a fine job of importing Powerpoint with few formatting problems. Numbers does a great conversion of Excel files though my spreadsheet needs are limited.
As far as generating new documents, iWork has finally surpassed Office and is less bloated for features I never use. The automatic appearing, context sensitive format bars are very friendly, very Apple. I t has really matured as a stand alone product and I would convert to iWork exclusively if not for my need to seamlessly convert to Office documents. Very happy with this release and would recommend it to users who do not need to work in mixed environments.
