Too soon.. February 22, 2005 0 out of 38 found this review helpful
They released this game WAY too soon.
When you first get into the game, you are overwhealmed at so many features, it is a cornucopia of fun. However -- once you spend any great deal of time, you'll realize the bugs, balance, content, and support issues override any fun in the game. There is so much about this game that isn't done, and so much that doesn't get addressed. SERIOUS class flaws that persist from minor patch to minor patch make playing a chore after you level 1 or 2 characters to a high level (50-60), you start "twinks", low level chars with lotsa money. Its just the same over and over, same bugs, same content. The most serious flaw is the worthless PVP content. I thought that WOW was going to be what DAOC should have been, but the lack of attention to PVP issues has completely ruined this feature for me.
Give this game 2-3 months and it might be ready.
amazing game February 11, 2005 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
This game is amazing, ive had no problem with it. you get a free month with the game, so not having game cards should not be a problem. IF you like MMORPGS or WC3, this is for you... you'll be too hoocked on it to notice time going by
Listen People, I'll tell you why WoW costs money.... January 19, 2005 135 out of 204 found this review helpful
In order to run the servers which hold thousands of people at any given time takes up a ton of power & bandwidth and can hit the server pretty hard, while this also calls for maintence, it's not enough for Blizzard to keep the server free to everyone, so that is why (pretty much all) MMO (Massive Multiplayer Online) games have a monthly fee, its incredibly expensive to run these things all year round, your company would run into the ground if the servers were free. Plus Blizzard is always making new content FOR FREE to the addition of the game, like the recent 1.11 patch which has Naxxramas and in the future for 1.12 World PvP, so don't think you're just paying for the basics, you are paying for the long future of WoW.
World of Warcraft is a fantasic game for this genre and I'm willing to pay for it. For those who keep complaining, its not going to change, Blizzard still has other free games such as Warcraft 3 , Diablo II and Starcraft.
But as for the 60-day pre paid card, I like the option because some people may not want to use a credit card or go into thier accounts, or even younger people who don't have access to their banking account and only have allowences to purchase the game with. Literally every MMO has done this, so Blizzard continues with the tradition.
What gives? January 15, 2005 17 out of 36 found this review helpful
The pre-paid 60 day game card costs $30 which is the same as the regular cost of 2 months(if u use a credit card) and YOU WONT HAVE TO PAY SHIPING COSTS if u just pay at home. So dont bother...
