| Customer Reviews:
Pretty good but poor (next to none) customer support. July 7, 2008 My new HP notebook with Vista64 came preloaded with Norton Antivirus. I updated and activated the software, rebooted and was rewarded with the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. HP tech support suggested that I uninstall Norton and use something else. I went out an purchased Kaspersky and I had initial problems installing beacause of Norton not being completely uninstalled. I managed to get it working after getting my own self help by reading postings on the internet and Kasperskys self help page. There is a Norton uninstall tool to clear the registry. Anyhow... I had other issues such as windows not loading the desktop etc... No tech support from Kaspersky. There is NO RESPONSE from their email support program,so you are ON YOUR OWN. I suspect that the company is not doing well, so shut down their email support staff. Once you finally get it up and running, it is great.
Block Everything July 7, 2008 I regret having bought this. It blocks video im's on AIM and after hours on the phone and the live chat, they don't seem to know why. No 800 number for tech support and no support on the weekends. I wish I would have bought the Norton.
Very Good Product - but Proactive Module Needs Work July 6, 2008 Very pleased with general functioning of Kaspersky Internet Security. Installed and runs a scan without a problem. Turning on Proactive Module leads to numerous popups warning of potential trouble. There is no way that I can see to tell if the "Integrity violation" messages are genuine or just false positives as Kaspersky learns about the programs I use. I can't tell if the dll's are being modified as part of the normal program operation (possibly) or whether my system has become infested with software invaders (not likely). Pressing on the details hyperlink doesn't provide any helpful information. Seems like their database should be updated. A product called Winpatrol is an excellent model the type of support I have in mind. Turning off Proactive mode is a possibility, but why lose the value of a feature Kaspersky highlights?
My Kaspersky July 5, 2008 It seems good to me.
I know Norton gave me a hard time a few years ago by cutting my subscription off 2 months early. I could get no help, person, reason, ... McAfee was ok, but after a few years I got no rebates or discounts.
At least now I'm supposed to have the highest rated at the same or less cost. Amen!
Safety and efficiency June 29, 2008 I had a trial of this and loved it. Couldn't afford to buy it when the trial was up. Went with free PC-cillin licensed by work, It slowed down my PC by a factor of 3. Went with a free one (Avast), after six months of good results a trojan got through. Decided I couldn't afford not to have Kaspersky. Cleaned up my PC, and keeps me safe. And my PC is as fast as ever.
