Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3 (KIS 7.0.3) June 21, 2008 This review compares KIS 7.0.3 to Norton Systemworks 2007. I have been a long time Norton user. Having gone through one of the norton removal orderals, I chose KIS 7.0.3 instead. Norton would always add latency to the computer response when it was processing, which was most of the time. Norton was always process hungry with a total process count of 68 to 70. Now it runs with 60 to 62 under KIS 7.0.3. KIS 7.0.3 is less invasive and updates every hour or when necessary. WIth KIS 7.0.3, the hard drives cycles much less; the computer runs quiter.
Didn't care for it. June 21, 2008 It's an o.k security system but it's a pain to use if you are not computer savy. It really slows down your computer and what I hate about it is the safety settings not even letting you open trusted websites or download safe software, with Macfee the system would asked you if you trust the website but with Kaspersky you don't have that option, you have to lower the security on the system to allow new websites or software.

I was never able to load this product on my machine. Kaspersky support was not helpful. Sometimes I had to stay on the line for 20 minutes or more before anybody picked up. Then I would get unsolicited responses from different people offering suggestions that had already been offered. It really felt like they don't know what they are doing at Kaspersky.
Norton, on the other hand, is very professional. They are easy to get for support and spent hours helping me getting their product to work.
Better than most anti-virus software I've tried June 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have tried Norton, Mcafee, Trend, and this one is the best so far. Norton just takes over your machine and cpu and leaves its footprint everywhere on an uninstall, Mcafee misses some viruses, and Trend doesn't give you much control over its product. At first install Kaspersky is slow in running and seems to make your hard drive run in background on its own, but apparently this is how it is designed. The first week or so, it is in learning mode and does a lot of things in the background, but after a week, it settled down and is performing quite well. It even caught a trojan virus on one of my disks.
One drawback I've found is that it has a 'create rescue disk' facitlity, but you have to install 3rd party product and configure it, and this product isn't fully ompatible with Vista yet. Plus the install and configuration of this product isn't straightforward. I feel that Kaspersky should incorporate this product, or its own version, with it's regular install or something like it and make the 'create rescue disk' process seamless to users. Otherwise, I love and highly recommend this anti-virus product.
excellent June 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kaspersky is an excellent security product. I have been much more pleased wtih it than Trendmicro, which we had previously. Kaspersky is rated very well, too.
