Internet Safety January 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
While using two security programs free for the download and highly recommended, I picked up a rootkit that messed me up badly. After reading the positive review of Kaspersky's suite on PC World, I bought the software. As soon as it was installed, it found problems on my notebook that I was not aware of and corrected them. I'm VERY pleased and satisfied with the ease of use and thoroughness of the program.
Awesome January 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This found a virus neither Norton or Panda could find on my puter. I had a very nasty trojan horse I got from a fake codec (God's way of telling us to stay away from xxx sites). Ran my installed Norton - nothing. Said everything was perfect while my browser was being highjacked to death to every sex site on the internet. Went to Panda's site and did a free check there - same result - according to them everything was perfect. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
Downloaded a free trial of Kasperski - and VOILA!!! Found it, killed it dead, no recurrance. They're earned a loyal new customer in me.
Works great for the basic user--me January 15, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this software after reading reviews in "PC" and Amazon. I also have heard from friends that Norton and McAfee take over your computer, slowing down the machine, and so on. I'm just a basic user; I want to install something w/o having to modify it and just let it run and do its job. I don't want to have to even attempt to fuss w/ the software, mostly because I don't know what I would need to do anyway.
So, Kaspersky has been great for me. It was easy to install, runs in the background, and I've never noticed even a touch of slowing of my machine. I like the 3-user license, too; I installed it on my own laptop and then also on my parents' PC.
I recommend it!
Powerful but resource-eating! January 14, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I admit this is one of the most powerful anti-virus softwares. It is almost perfect if you have a very powerful computer and you are good at computers. Since there are many settings that is not easy to understand and use by normal people. And also it is resource-eating. My laptop is THINKPAD T43 with 1.86G cpu and 2Gb memory. But it is very slow sometimes (not all time, just when this software is scanning). In a word, good product but you need some computer knowledge to use it and also you need a powerful computer.
Great Internet Security! January 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
At work, we upgraded the internet security from Norton to Kaspersky. It is easy and efficient. It has worked so greatly at work that I also upgraded my home internet security from McAfee to Kaspersky. No complaints!
