Very annoying June 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This program slowed my computer and had a lot of irritating popups that were asking "do you want to . . . " In addition I had a re direct virus that it did not get rid of. I had to download a pc tools anti spy program to get rid of it.
Best antivirus I've tried June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Stop looking for the best antivirus... you've found it. Although you need to have a little experience to get the best out of this program... i believe you can use its basic functions and will work for you. I highly recommend it if you love web surfing and checking strange sites. I've had installed other softwares in my computer before (norton, avg, Mcafee, panda)and this is the best i've had so far. Your computer will get a little slower than usual, but believe me... it's worth it!!!
Best AV suite - period. June 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Kaspersky has proven themselves time and time again to have the best detection & removal rates. This is the AV product to get regardless of your PC skill level. You can configure this with a basic level and still get protection better than Symantec or McAfee, or do it up as an expert user blocking websites, IP ranges, applications, ports, e-mail senders/domains, etc. for the ultimate in security.
This is the only AV program I've used for the last 5 years (different versions, naturally) and I've never had a virus, spyware, or other 'Internet nuisances' on my PC. Kaspersky's warning system is very easy to understand and immediately halts Internet traffic until an Allow or Block is clicked for a suspected malicious application / activity. The system scans are very low-impact to your system (I'm actually typing this review while performing a system scan). The background protection takes almost no resources. The installed program folder itself is only 18MB, and it actually fully removes itself (no 'remnants' are left behind in various folders and the Registry, unlike Symantec or McAfee), if for some reason you decide to uninstall the product. This is the product I recommend to everyone, regardless of Internet savvy or PC skill level.
Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3 (KIS 7.0.3) June 21, 2008 This review compares KIS 7.0.3 to Norton Systemworks 2007. I have been a long time Norton user. Having gone through one of the norton removal orderals, I chose KIS 7.0.3 instead. Norton would always add latency to the computer response when it was processing, which was most of the time. Norton was always process hungry with a total process count of 68 to 70. Now it runs with 60 to 62 under KIS 7.0.3. KIS 7.0.3 is less invasive and updates every hour or when necessary. WIth KIS 7.0.3, the hard drives cycles much less; the computer runs quiter.
