Fantastic! June 28, 2006 Wow! Was I ever surprised at the realism of the display. My screen goes to full screen with truly lifelike fish swimming around very naturally. You can almost stick you hand in the water it's so realistic. Thank you. I'll want more! John
I love it. June 27, 2006 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is probably the best free-after-rebate product I own. I love to watch the fist swim around and it's definately more exciting than the screensaver I used to have. Some of the fish are bigger than others, as they would be in real life. I find it very realistic.
Beware... It doesn't work on some systems June 26, 2006 3 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have windows XP SP2. My CD drive doesn't recognize this CD. It says either CD format is different or corrupt. I ordered for a replacement and even the replacement CD it is the same problem. I never had problem with any other CD. There is nothing in the Technical support. I returned my CDs.
No 3D graphic Accelerator Card -- Then don't Buy it June 21, 2006 If you don't have a 3D graphic Accelerator Card, this program won't even work.
can't even install it on my home computer, which only has a basic 2D graphic accelerator card.
Now will have to buy a 3D card for 200 buck to see this Free screen saver??
Interesting...but not as good as Serene Screen June 13, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
My son loved the Serene Screen screensaver I had installed on my old computer, so when we purchased a new system I decided to give this product a try. It advertises 40+ fishes, the ability to 'tap' the screen, feed the fish, etc.
Installation was uneventful, and my son eagerly waited as I launched the software.
some quick observations:
First off, the backgrounds stink. They are extremely unrealistic...I think another reviewer mentioned that already.
The fish have a tendency to 'swim' off the screen...and not return. There were several instances where there were NO fish on the screen at all.
The scale of the fish seems a bit off--some fish were MUCH larger than others, and there is little sense of depth when the fish "swim away" from you.
Fish movement seems jerky and unrealistic.
'Tapping' on the screen seems to work, as some of the fish turn toward the screen. 'Feeding' them seems to have some effect, but not what you would expect.
This product went back under their 30-day refund policy...and Serene Screen is now on the new computer.
