Still trying to use this on Vista July 30, 2007 We just bought a new computer which came loaded with Vista (not the one I would have chosen form myself, but oh well). It has a feature that allows it to run older programs on it, but I can't get that to work until I get a glitch fixed that seems to be linked to outlook express. I haven't given up on Slam Dunk yet. Has anyone had success using it with Vista? P.S. I gave it two stars because I had to put in some number. I'll update this review if/when I get the program to work
Look at the Fine Print July 19, 2007 My son used this years ago and loved it. Unfortunately, when I recently purchased it again, I did not see that it was an older version and uncompatible with newer computers. I had to return it, but have not received my refund yet.
Great product, but does not run well on OSX+Classic mode February 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Running this software in OSX+Classic mode will result in occasional lagginess -- not a big deal until you're a speed typist. My kids (ages 5 and 8) love this game, and it has really improved their touch typing skills. It's also a favorite at school.
Why no WinXP upgrade??? November 28, 2004 36 out of 38 found this review helpful
I have never seen a typing tutor program that kids go nuts for like Slam Dunk. It does a great job of actually feeling like a computer game, as opposed to many educational software items where the "game" aspect feels like an excuse to learn stuff. I've seen kids from third grade through seventh really love it. BUT...it does not work with WinXP!!!!! I don't know what Creative Wonders has not offered a new version, but I wish they would. Nevertheless, if you have a MAC or an older version of Windows, I heartily recommend this software.
No Longer Supported November 20, 2004 48 out of 53 found this review helpful
LearningCo no longer supports this software according to their website. I could not get this software to install on a DELL Windows XP machine.
