3 out of 5 stars A Step DOWN from 2004   February 15, 2007

I REALLY wish the Intuit idiots would've left well enough alone, or at LEAST, only FIXED the problems with the old version, instead of intruducing new ones with the new version. We STILL can't fully customize the Invoices. What a waste. Hey, Intuit, here's a clue: PEOPLE NEED THEIR CUSTOMER'S PHONE NUMBER ON THEIR INVOICES!!! Duh! Now for the bad, There are now annoying zzzzz's on my account names in graphs. Some of my data doesn't show unless I finagle with it, the new fonts are too big, and even though I use 1024x768 resolution, and have a 19" monitor, all of my headings no longer show, as they did before. Accepting and verifying downloaded transactions is now a [...] shoot, whereas it used to be more visible and easy before. Isn't it GREAT that such large companies hire such moronic developers and put out software with so many bugs? We get to be the free crash test dummies. And the WORST part is that these scumbags force us to upgrade every 3 years so they can keep their stockholders happy.

There have been enough changes for the better to make this product well worth the purchase, installation, & learning curve.

1 out of 5 stars 24/7 Tech Support via Chat   February 5, 2007

I've only had this software for a few months and already know half of the tech support population of Bangalore, India. One problem with this software is that it has an auto update function that results in "Patch Engine Error," which I've solved through versions 2, 3 and 4. Another problem is with Quicken's servers, resulting in CC-501, CC-502 and CC-899 errors. Translation: Quicken's servers are unable to reliably update your bank account information. Today, in the time it took Pandeep to respond to one of my online chat questions, I was able to migrate a dozen accounts to MSN's free online version of Money, which updated all of my bank accounts easily. Conclusion: Save your receipt for their 60-day refund.

1 out of 5 stars The worst version ever - beware - don't upgrade   January 29, 2007

I have been a long time user and have always had good success until the 2007.

I have tried to install on my new PC and have not been successful. I called Intuit Phone support and spent and hour changing setting on my computer. We did the usual things for WinXP Pro:

1. Set up a new account to verify it isn't a permission problem
2. Shut off all service and switched to safe mode

None of these made a difference. So the Support Technician told me to call Microsoft and then hung up. That was it, no chance to even complain, just a dead phone line.

Luckly, I know enough to put my PC back in working order but this is pretty lame support.

I never though Microsoft would get me to switch and they haven't but Intuit has forced me off all on their own.

5 out of 5 stars Runs well.   January 3, 2007

I have been using Quicken since 2000 for my family accounting and my LLC biz accounting also. I updated my Quicken from ver2004 to ver2007. Costco had a much better price than Amazon for this software. The update process went smoothly. The ver2007 has a lot more reporting capabilities than the ver2004. The on-line update seems to be either on-the-par or a little slower than the ver2004. I tried the MS money deluxe back in mid -2006, but I just don't like the interface design from MS Money. So far, 2 months after the updating, I haven't run into any problem. Overall, I am happy with the ver2007 Quicken.
