Good Product that needs a few more interaces and a bit more intuition February 28, 2006 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Money is great for monitoring your standard investment and banking accounts. However, I still wish it had a greater ability to work with non-revolving accounts. Most loans and mortgages have to be entered by hand to be tracked and the process isn't that effective.
In addition payments then can't be automatically logged against that account. Otherwise the ability to budget and to break expenses down into the categories is an excellent tool for tracking where your money goes and what your current financial picture is.
As advertised February 25, 2006 1 out of 12 found this review helpful
The software is exactly as claimed by Microsoft. It is relatively easy to use and contains a lot of improvements over previous versions.
Money 2006 Premium February 21, 2006 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Not as user friendly as Quicken and premium use has an expiration date unlike Quicken. If not for rebate I would have stayed with Quicken. Some financial sites I use won't download to Money, but will to Quicken.
Let down on international support February 21, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
While the software has much to be commended for, it is disappointment on two fronts 1) support on investments in the fastest developing countries like India and China where MSN does have a major presence and 2) does not include insurance as an asset as such, only in their lifetime planning section.
Both these factors do not let you accurately track your investments, savings or retirement planning accurately.
Otherwise, it is a great software given the depth of MSN's online involvement.
Good program .. annoying problems February 18, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Okay.. Maybe 2 stars is harsh but the bugs this program has are a little to large for a program this type.
I truly wish I had paid more heed to the negative reviews instead of thinking "hey how bad can it be!" .. let me tell you.. dont throw your money away like I did.. I'm seriously considering getting my money back from Microsoft through their 30 day money back garauntee.
Here is why:
The reports are ALL useless! as another reviewer here pointed out.. When you make a payment from one account to a credit card account also stored in money.. guess what? IT DOUBLE COUNTS! It counts your credit card payment entry as Expense... and it counts all the entries in that credit card you paid off.. AS SEPARATE EXPENSES! Still dont get it? If you spend $50 on your credit card, money will show it as $100 spent, coz you spent $50 on the credit card, and $50 paying off the debt on the credit card.
The worth of these financial management programs lies completely in their ability to give us accurate reports and information on our expenses and assets.. and if they fail at this very basic thing.. they are useless.
Terrible... absolutely terrible.
Other than that.. the program was easy to setup with all my banking/credit card/investment institutions. and everything worked. sigh...
