1 out of 5 stars Windows ME users look elsewhere   October 9, 2008
Some people here seem to be satisfied with Panda. Good for them! For me, I think it sucked.

It may be a problem with Windows ME. When you have a system from 2001 that has Windows ME you can't really afford to be choosy, you have to just accept what the market offers. And Panda Internet Security 2008 was the only Security suite compatible with Windows ME. At first there were no problems. It installed easily , unobstrusively did it's thing. The updates went ahead with no problem. I sent the registration code to Panada and they gave me a licence key. For about 4 or 5 days it seemed perfect. A complete security suite that ran smoothly. Peace of mind! Then after about a week or so I noticed that it had stopped automatiucally updating. I tried manually updating- it didn't work. I kept on getting a "update not complete restart your computer" message, but whenever I restarted it still failed to update. Eventually I had to get another (free) antivirus program and discovered about 9 viruses on my system.

As if that wasn't enough even browsing the web became a chore. When I tried to access a wesbite, 60% of the time I would get some "Connection Reset" error message. Click on it again, same message. Repeat for about 7 or 8 times before finally getting through. This is the equivalent of ringing someones doorbell, asking if you can come in and having the door slammed in your face."Hi can I come in? *slam* ...Hi can I come in? *slam* ...Hi can I come in? *slam* ...Hi can I come in? *slam* ...Hi can I come in? *slam* ..." Frustrating? Do bears shi....yes, it's frustrating.

If you have Windows ME I would be wary of getting this product. Maybe some ME users have found it okay, but I can only relate my frustrating experience.

1 out of 5 stars Activation nightmare   August 17, 2008

I have a three-user license and was able to activate two of the three quickly and easily. The third activation has taken a lot of typing, retyping, checking the documents I received from Panda. Finally, I checked in with with Panda technical support. No joy there.

Tech support was impentrable. They kept insisting I did not exist as a user depite my sending them my screen grab will all of my registration information.

Looks like it's back to Norton for me, and I've experienced significant slowdown with them in the past.

1 out of 5 stars Beware un-installing Panda   July 18, 2008

I have had my new laptop only about 3 months. I downloaded a 30 day trial of Panda Internet Security 2008. With 12 days left on the 30 day trial I decided to un-install Panda and try a 15 day trial of Norton Internet Security 2008 to compare the two. BIG mistake. I don't know what Panda took with it on the un-install but my computer was totally wrecked! Running the recovery cd's even failed. I had to send this 3 month old laptop back to the manufacturer for repair. They had to replace the hard drive.I have not used Norton in many years,it used to aggrivate me, But, what i have been reading lately, I think I will go back to Norton. I think it will be a lot safer.

1 out of 5 stars Total disappointment   July 12, 2008

Ever since I installed Panda Internet Security on my two Dell Computers (4550 Desktop and 620 Latitude), it has been hell. Both the computers have been extremely slow. My homenetworking and printer sharing do not work. I tried to make use of Panda's email customer service. I got a response to my first email but thereafter I do not receive any response. After spending hours, I just have uninstalled the software and have returned it to Amazon. I have decided to go back to MacCafee and hope for better luck.

5 out of 5 stars the best security software   July 7, 2008

I have found this to be the best security software. It is very easy to install and I have had no problems with running it on my pc. I used Mcafee before purchasing panda and had problems with my pc running slow and locking up. No problems with panda and have used it for the past two years.
