Where's chapters 7 and 8? February 28, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Unless I received a special edition of this book, I would have to say this is definitely the most poorly proof read book ever released. Not only were there constant speallliung errors, but the author constantly mixed up words, and even spelled names wrong. My favorite mistake was the fact that the name Avery had two spaces between the a and v so his name was always written A Very.
Oh and did I fail to mention that the book was missing an entire two chapters?! Yes that is correct pages 97-128 are gone, and there could be more, but I stopped reading after that. Were is my refund?
more greatness from the Halo universe February 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Here we have the fourth book in the Halo series, based off the popular video game franchise. This book only contains a little bit of a continuation from the previous one. There is no mention of what is going on with Master Chief(although if you played Halo 2 then you know what he's doing). This book is about the story of the next generation Spartans, or Spartan IIIs as they are called. You read about how they are trained and developed. Also they use a new type of armor. The govenment can not afford to buy more Mjolnir armor so these new spartans have to make due with a lesser, albeit different and still somewhat effective, body armor. You also find out what's going on with the other Spartan IIs that are still alive. Remember Fred, Kelly, Linda, and Dan? There is also an interesting mystery with the planet of Onyx that you will discover.(hint: guilty spark makes a little comment about it in Halo 3) So, even if this is not a continuation of Master Chief's story, it is great nonetheless and helps to spread even more knowledge of the Halo universe. There is great material in here that could make for another awesome sequel to Halo.
Halo: Ghosts of Onyx February 22, 2008 Halo: Ghosts of Onyx by Eric Nylund is a suspenseful book that kept me turning the pages. It is a science fiction book about a Spartan super-soldier named Kurt, who is in charge of the Spartan III training program. Time is running out and Kurt and his allies need to find out the secret of the planet Onyx. This book is rated 5 stars by my standards, for the amazing storyline that has no problems easily seen. Anyone who is looking for a book with action and a great storyline straight throughout the whole book, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx is the book for you!
Good Adventure January 27, 2008
This is the only Halo book that I've read; and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's got plenty of action and illustrates the environments and situations quite well.
Very enjoyable.
