Amazing!!! July 2, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This games is an extraodinary simulator. With the amazing scenic railways to speedimg on the rails of the world. When I got this game I thought that it would be just another boting simulator, but it wasn't. I loved it, so you should get it. So do your self a favor and get this awesome game.
Still going strong May 18, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is the same "game" brought out by Microsoft in May 2001. Microsoft discontinued further development before coming out with a newer version. They sold over 1.3 million copies and still have a strong following with huge amounts of free add-ons from individuals available on the Internet. It still runs on a relatively low-spec PC and goes for an unbeatable price. That said, if you want more capability and a product that continues to be developed, consider Trainz 2006. (It doesn't have to be one or the other. I use both.)

I didn't realize when I bought this game just how old it is. Graphically it's about on par with the original Half-Life. I was hoping for something that looked a little better.
Microsoft Train Simulator January 27, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
It's a lot harder than you would think to move a train from station to station and this program allows you to experience many of the challanges actually encountered. Beginning at the easiest level of difficulty (to learn to operate the train and fimiliarize yourself with the track layout) and progressing to the most difficult level is much more difficult than you think. I have a great deal more respect for those responsible to move trains around the country. Yes, it could be better, but still a lot of fun and challange for young and old alike. Enjoy!

My husband always wanted a game like this since he is such a train buff. It was to be a great gift for Christmas, but it is always crashing the computer. He can only play certain parts of it and that is a shame. We've had our computer checked out and even updated the mother board and still he can't play the complete simulation. My guess is he will become bored with it very soon. A friend of his asked if he had the original USA version or the one from Japan. This is not the original and I hope it isn't a knock off. Not only is it frustrating for him, but we worry that it will hurt the computer.
