A Review July 31, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This isn't the best game. It doesn't have particularly good graphics, and gets boring after awhile. First, you pick your horse out of the choices that they provide, which are pretty much a palomino, a creamello, which is pretty much a lighter palomino, a bay, a black, a skewbald (which is a pinto with black and white splotches) a palomino pinto, and that's pretty much it. For some reason they call these "breeds" in the beginning, but near the end, no matter what breed you chose, they say that your horse is a thoroughbred. The basic shape of the horses are exactly the same, and have no distinguishing features at all. They all look the same, except for the color. You also pick out your character's name, and your horse's name, which actually doesn't matter in the game, so there's no reason to put the question there anyways. It would really be nice if you could customize your character in any more ways than changing hair color and clothing. Then you watch a couple videos that explain why you're where you are, and then you have a schedule that you have to follow. For the first couple of days, you have to do the schedule that they plan out for you, but after that you can do what you want, except you can't change anything after the first period. You also discover that there's a voice in your head called Elsys and it explains what to do and occasionally how to do it. You do three events, dressage, showjumping and cross country. You'll find that the jumping (showjumping and cross country) is fun at first, but it gets increasingly more challenging until it's just frustrating. You also might find that you don't really want to do dressage. I have to admit, it is really boring. This game is definitely not the best game on the market. You might be better off doing a little more research and finding a game that is better, which may not be all that hard to find. If you are really considering buying this, and you've read plenty of good reveiws, and you are thinking, "Oh, well, this is just one person. Every one else says that this game is good." Well, please, I'm begging you on my hands and knees, this really isn't the best game. It's your decision to buy it, but please think about it before you do.
Excellent game; well made July 22, 2007 This is an excellent game that I can play for hours on end. Once you think that you can just train your horse and play around, something happens that is totally unexpected. I got this for Christmas 2005 and I still enjoy playing it unlike some of the other games. I would choose this one over Horsez any day because this one is a little more realistic and it's more fun (I think!)
It was OK June 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The game wasnt bad. It was very challenging the 1st time I played it, it took me over an hour to get Ginger's present. I also got kicked out of the academy at the very end. The game was definutly fun to play, the only problem was the graphics, which were terrible. Here's a hint- When you go to a new place(or new week), always go to the library first, then do dressage, showjumping, cross country. You get moral points from doing dressage. Always start your day of with something to help their moral! Anyway, if you are looking for a real quality horse game, I suggest Equestriad!
Never getting bored!!!! May 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am 43 years old, and I absolutely love this game! It isn't difficult and when I showed my brother (47 years old) he wanted to play! I can not say enough good things about this game. I purchased one other game and regretted it...it was made for a 4 year old and the movements, handling eveything just stunk (poor 4 year old). But I mean it was terrible, the horse looked like he walked out of a coloring book. BUT, not this game!!! Awesome guys...just loads of fun.
Worth Your Money!!! May 12, 2007 This really is a great game, and it has more good points than bood points.
The Pros: -The movements on foot and on horseback are really easy to do, once you get the hang of it. -I really hope Champion Dreams becomes a series, like Let's Ride!because this is a really great game, and maybe next time they could have a different-looking girl! -The whole concept of the game(organizing your schedule, buying clothes online)is really modern, and the graphics are not bad, actually unique. -I feel that the challenge of mastering this game is a good one.
Cons: -Dressage is really hard! This is my first horse game, but I think it's not the best horse game for beginners, because, for example, the only way I could win the race with Kiew was to press the ESC key so Jade could get ahead(in your FACE,Kiew!!!). -What I find ridiculous, is that most of the times, during the videos, the people say something completely different from what the captions say.
I think that if you are considering buying it,you should. Good luck!!!!
