REALLY BAD ~ wait for more updates, this sucks!!! 05-19-08 May 20, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
We have three Mac's in the house and are VERY pro Apple. Got Leopard for the G-4. We exceed speed and memory requirements as well as RAM. Since it's been installed ~ it'll lock up and freeze. We've reloaded and rechecked everything. I was told to: Wait for a few updates! Well excuse me Mr. Apple, this thing should WORK out of the box, not months later when you get around to it. So after living with Leopard (should be renamed Leper) we're pulling it out, putting Tiger back in. It's just a horrible system about 98% of it. Yes, the time machine feature is good. But the way it locks up, loses downloads, files items, and gives you ZERO HELP all I can see is Mr. Jobs needs to kick the designers in the rear and go back to the drawing board.
First Time Mac User Loves It May 16, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
First let me say that my iMac 20" was only my second ever apple purchase. I'm a former PC gamer and hardcore PC guy who has given up on Microsoft.
I've used everything from FreeBSD & Linux to Windows XP/Vista and this is the most stable consumer based operating system. The OS loads very quick and the integration with iTunes & Safari is wonderful.
Not good May 13, 2008 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have a brand new imac to replace a G4 that I really liked. Leopard is so bad, installation was a nightmare, it still crashes all the time and nothing is compatible. There is no way I would recommend a Mac to anyone, and I used to all the time. I can only hope they improve it because Leopard blows. Boo!

I've been a Mac user since the late 80's and I swore back then that I would never own anything else (I currently use the MacBook Pro, and still have my SE, iMac, iBook, and 1st gen iPod). I read the mixed reviews of Leopard, and was reluctant to upgrade at first. But I'm happy to report that Apple has not let its faithful long-time users down, by once again giving us the quality technology that we've come to expect. From standard features like the clean, user-friendly interface to new additions like Quick Look and Time Machine (I've been waiting for YEARS for Apple to supply its own back up program), Leopard 10.5 is a top notch product. If I had one criticism to offer it would be that Apple should have given us this product a long time ago.
Improvement over an already stable OS May 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I pre-ordered Leopard and upgraded both my macbok and iMac with it. The improvements over an already solid and stable os make this a winner in my book. Of all of the changes, the one I ask myself how I lived without before is quick look. As a graphic designer, it has served me very well. On my work computer, we use tiger and everytime I want to look at a file, I have to open it in preview or photoshop. Quick Look would be so handy in this case, and especially when there are multiple copies of a file with changes that you just want to look through quickly. I'm also loving the simple backups through Time Machine, Spaces gets a lot of use on my laptop and screen sharing in iChat is a godsend for my new switcher brother, who I screenshare over iChat with to troubleshoot problems or just to show him how to use an app.
